I guess I'll open by wishing my mother a happy birthday and follow that by apologizing to everyone for forgetting to set this to publish when I wrote it. With that out of the way, how great are these Olympics? I ask because I haven't watched them, but apparently people are because my entire Twitter stream is full of people talking about them non-stop. I can't express how much worse the Olympics are making social media. Before tweeting about an Olympic event, I ask that you ask yourself a question, "would I care about this sport if the Olympics weren't going on?" When the answer is "no," refrain from tweeting.
I'd complain about people talking about it on Facebook, but somewhere along the line I blocked 99% of my friends' status updates and never looked back. I highly recommend making that decision. I can't endorse it strongly enough.
UPDATE: Oh and holy crap, Yasmani Grandal is hurt now? Being a Padres fan was meant to suck this year. What's that? A bright spot? Oh, we're gonna have to blot that out.
Anyway, talk about whatever you want in the comments.*
