Let's ignore the fact that Richard attempted to cheat his way to victory earlier today. It's okay. He's just scared, knowing that my team of giants will be impossible to cover in this game. Adhering to the rules that each team only gets six selections, Richard will forfeit the selection of Antoine Cason. Here are the final teams:

Hat Eaters Raider Haters
Shaun Phillips Melvin Ingram
Eric Weddle Antonio Gates
Malcom Floyd Ryan Mathews
Eddie Royal Robert Meachem
Ladarius Green Nick Hardwick
Jared Gaither Marcus Gilchrist
Philip Rivers (QB) Philip Rivers (QB)

After the jump, I'll break down the position that each Hat Eaters will play on offense and defense.

QB: Philip Rivers

RB: Eric Weddle

WR: Malcom Floyd, Eddie Royal

TE: Shaun Phillips, Ladarius Green

OL: Jared Gaither

Sure, Weddle might be a weak-link at Running Back, but I trust him more as a runner than I do as a Wide Receiver. His stats from college actually make the argument that he's a solid running back.

Gaither seems like a good protector for Rivers, who can find either find Weddle and Phillips underneath or chuck it long to Royal, Floyd and Green.

DT: Jared Gaither

Joker LB (Pass-rusher, RB coverage, Run-stopper): Shaun Phillips

CB: Eddie Royal, Eric Weddle

Safeties: Malcom Floyd, Ladarius Green

Oh, I like this. Gaither and Phillips seem like a formidable team at both stopping the run or getting to the QB. Weddle and Royal have the speed to hang with Meachem and Gilchrist. The key to everything, however, is my long-armed monsters manning the Safety positions.

One of the Safeties will be responsible for deep balls. I'm thinking that will be Floyd's responsibility. Anything thrown more than 20 yards will have Malcom flying towards it. Green's job will mostly be to stay near Antonio Gates and try and try to jump routes to get interceptions. Based on speed and size alone, Green should be able to win this battle occasionally.
