The San Diego Chargers offseason is the epitome of boring. Even when lots of rookies were going up to Los Angeles and goofing around with kids, the Chargers rookies were nowhere to be found. As usual, it's all business with the Bolts and the hyperbole is right on schedule.
The Chargers are still a team of "if"s. if Jarret Johnson can become a leader in one offseason, it will be a boost. If Corey Liuget was used incorrectly last year and if he's used correctly this year, it will help. If Melvin Ingram can be Von Miller Part Deux, the defense will be greatly improved. If Philip Rivers can keep from a "slump" and if Antonio Gates can stay healthy and if Ryan Mathews can continue to progress, the offseason will be unstoppable.
If David Chao can keep the team from falling apart, the things above are all possibilities. Heck, anything's a possibility. If you aren't yawning by now, you should be. However, it's better this type of offseason than one filled with legal issues for the players or a lockout or Tim Tebow vs. Mark Sanchez, right?
