Early this morning comes the news that the San Diego Chargers have signed another member of their draft class, Tight End Ladarius Green, to a four-year contract.

Green is a two-time Mackey Award semifinalist, given to the best Tight End in college, and is known for his soft hands, good route-running and size. At 6'6", he's the third tallest player on San Diego's roster behind Mario Henderson and Jared Gaither (Fun note: The Chargers signed an undrafted free agent Punter from Rice named Kyle Martens, and he is also 6'6").

Expect Green to be used along with Antonio Gates and Dante Rosario in red zone situations this season, where the team has struggled to get the ball int he end zone by way of passing.

The only unsigned members of the draft class are now Brandon Taylor (who will probably need special clauses in case he becomes the starter in Week 1), Johnnie Troutman (who will probably miss the entire 2012 season, so there's no rush), and Edwin Baker. As we've stated before, the new Collective Bargaining Agreement eliminates almost all the things that agents and teams used to fight over during these negotiations, so you can expect at least Taylor and Baker to be signed within the week.
