A couple of moves that the San Diego Chargers were saying that they would make were made today.

The team is hoping that they can sign both of these players back to reasonable contracts after they test the free agency waters. If either player decides that they don't want to test free agency (and who knows why they would do that), they have a little over a week to negotiate with the Bolts before free agency begins next Tuesday.

The good play of Vaughn Martin and Vincent Brown last season gives the team a fallback plan in case Castillo and Jackson land elsewhere. Also, strong play from Antonio Gates towards the end of last season (and in the Pro Bowl) could be a sign that the offense will be fine with Gates and Philip Rivers remaining.
