To be honest, I don't get it. I'm not trying to be a smart a** or sarcastic, but I really don't get it. What is the big difference between a team, lets say the Giants, and the Bolts. QB's? Naw, i really believe Rivers is the equal of Manning (or any other QB) in the league. Sure, he had a not so great year, but lets face it, Manning (and Brady for that matter) have had valleys as well as peaks in their careers. Manning had a pretty rocky first half of this past season and ended up winning the SB. Receivers? Come on, we have some of the best in the NFL. RB's? Mathews and Tolbert are a very potent duo that can match up with anyone. Our defense has proved questionable at times, but was/is talented enough to at least keep us in the hunt and did get better towards the end of the season.
Coaching?........well, thats a matter of opinion, but Norv has proven that he can win games and is better than alot of the coaches out there. The bench? There lies a major problem. We have no depth at alot of positions, but checking out both the Patriots and Giants, their bench isn't exactly crammed with five star talent either. Injuries? We got hit hard this past season and I'll admit, that certainly contributes to a bad year, but doesn't every team in the NFL have to deal with injuries?
So with all that the Bolts have going for them, why do we drop further and further back every year? Why aren't we considered an 'elite' team anymore. What is the difference between the top ten teams in the league, and us? Again, I'm not trying to be a sarcastic a**, but I see all the good stuff that the Bolts have and I see what other teams have, and I can't understand why we don't have a few of those big silver trophies in a glass case down at Bolts HQ. Just an honest question.
