Will The Chargers Give Vincent Jackson The Franchise Tag? - Derek Togerson
Monday, the title of this story is: Will the chargers give Vincent Jackson the franchise tag? Perhaps a more fitting question is: Should the chargers give Jackson the franchise tag?

Could Brandon Carr stay in the AFC West? - Bill Williamson
I think this is the least likely scenario in the division. The Chargers like Antoine Cason and he could get an extension at some point. The Chargers simply have bigger needs to spend big money on this season.

Chiefs nab former Raiders cornerback Stanford Routt - Doug Farrar
Not only do the Chiefs present attractive battery mates for any cornerback in fellow cornerback Brandon Flowers, and safeties Eric Berry and Kendrick Lewis, but their approach to secondary play is consistent in production and coaching.

Jaworski suggests that age was a factor in MNF decision - Mike Florio
Jaworski has called it "bittersweet," Jon Gruden created the impression that he didn’t agree with the move, and Mike Tirico told Dan Patrick on Friday that Tirico was told the reason for the move but added, "I’m not going to share that with everybody because that’s not everybody’s business."

2012 NFL Mock Draft: Combine Week Will Shake Things Up -
18. San Diego Chargers, Kendall Wright, WR, Baylor
After some last-minute clemency, A.J. Smith and Norv Turner need to make a big splash in 2012, and big free agent move like that would do the trick. Vincent Jackson will finally be allowed to cash in as a free agent this year, and the Chargers will need to replace him. The dynamic Wright should be just the thing to erase the memories of Jackson in San Diego's downfield offense.

Scouts Inc.: Offseason AFC needs - Gary Horton (Subscription)
1. Right tackle: Jeromey Clary is not the answer for this unit, a group that could not stay healthy in 2011, but he is the most experienced guy at a woefully thin position. Brandyn Dombrowski is an interesting guy to replace left tackle Marcus McNeill, who might be cut to free up cap space. But Dombrowski might get a lot of looks as a restricted free agent. After him, the cupboard is pretty bare.

QB Tim Tebow works on mechanics - Peter Yoon
Also working out at UCLA on Thursday was San Diego Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers. Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder and former Arizona State quarterback Brock Osweiler are expected in over the next few days.

Five who could emerge at NFL combine - Todd McShay (Subscription)
Louisiana-Lafayette TE Ladarius Green (6-5¾, 237; 71)
Green is a bit undersized, but with today's NFL passing offenses looking for athletic tight ends who can cause mismatches Green's smooth movements, ball skills and potential to stretch the seam are attractive qualities. However, he has to overcome three hurdles.

Seven receivers for seven suitors - KC Joyner (Subscription)
Jackson's highest single-season pass reception total is 68. He also tallied less than 50 yards receiving in eight of his 16 games last season. The latter brings up consistency issues and the former offers some concern about his ability to deal with a larger target workload. He is the second-oldest player of this group.
