Okay for those of you who still have hope for this season- hats off to you and your abundance of sunshine out your yin-yang. For the rest of us who saw this coming when Norv was (surprisingly) retained during the off season, here we are staring at the draft and the 2013 season with 5 more games to go this season. To sum up this 2012 season all you really have to say is 3 words and 2 numbers: MNF and 4th & 29.
Besides the obvious fact that this season has been disappointing, there's also the matter of a rather big problem the Chargers have that they haven't had in years- their quarterback. So the question of the hour is what do you think is wrong with Philip Rivers? Is it as simple as being undercoached? Is it ALL in Rivers' head? Is it the sucky o-line? Personally, I think it's a little bit of everything but to not fence ride, I vote PR's head. I think he hasn't been right since the second game of the 2011 season against the Patriots when he got blasted by Andre Carter and a lot of people thought he was actually injured on that play which is why he had so many picks but I think it got to him mentally. After the game Rivers admitted that he had trouble in the huddle just trying to get the play out because he was still out of breath but I think it got to his head that he needed to press things and rush throws or risk getting blasted again. I also don't think losing Dielman, McNeill (his entire left side), and VJax (his most trusted receiver not named Gates) helped him any.
Anyway I was just wondering what you attribute to a Pro Bowl QB being reduced to whatever he is now. And please, none of this talk about Rivers being Ryan Leaf or any of that trash.
