Updated NFL QB rankings - Ron Jaworski
I've always been a big Rivers fan, but he has not been as sharp this season. His play has been a bit uneven but when I watch him, I still see a high-level understanding of the game. The Chargers aren't running the ball as well as they need to, because I think Rivers' best reads are the result of play-action.

Chargers know how to contain Darren Sproles - Michael Gehlken (UT$)
"I think what you do is take from what people did to us," coach Norv Turner said. "You look at the games where people were effective against him and see how they managed it, how they handled it. You know he’s going to get his plays, but we’ll try to keep him from getting the ball out in space where he makes big plays."

Carr must quickly get up to speed - Scott Bair
"There will be a lot of studying, because it's like trying to compact training camp and OTAs into one day," Carr said after practice Wednesday. "There's a lot to learn, but I crammed all day and night over the last few days.

Defense Set to Face Elite Saints Offense - Ricky Henne
"He’s such a good quarterback, and the things they do offensively are just so much," said defensive coordinator John Pagano. "We really have to be sharp in what we do and be fundamentally sound. We have to go out and play within the scheme, but also try to affect the quarterback. That’s what we have to do defensively."

Well, our adjusted completion percentage ignores those throws where a quarterback’s aim can’t be measured, and goes further by counting dropped passes as good as completions to give a reflection of who the most accurate quarterbacks are.

One guy to watch - Bill Williamson
The Chargers offense needs a boost and Meachem needs to step up when they travel to face his former team, the Saints. He signed a lucrative contract with San Diego this offseason. Meachem has not done much for the Chargers. He has six catches and he has been shut out in two games.

Breaking down Jaws' QB rankings - Bill Williamson
I think Rivers is a tad underranked. His numbers are down, but he has been efficient and is not working with a great supporting cast right now.
