The Chargers have terminated the contract of MIcheal Spurlock to make room for Chris Carr.
— Ricky Henne (@ChargersRHenne) October 3, 2012
I think I was the first one, yesterday, to state that Micheal Spurlock could be high on the chopping block for the San Diego Chargers after they signed CB Chris Carr. Carr has been a return specialist, just like Spurlock, and and Micheal hasn't been much more than a ghost in the Chargers' offense so far. With Vincent Brown only about a month away from returning, this was a sacrifice that the team could make.
The good news is that the team had the option to put Nate Kaeding on the IR list and decided against it. That means that, although Nick Novak will probably be kicking this Sunday, Kaeding should be back relatively soon.

Signed veteran cornerback @triplcarr to a one-year contract today.
— San Diego Chargers (@chargers) October 2, 2012
The Chargers weren't going to be able to defense the New Orleans Saints' spread offense, with their many receivers, with just 3 healthy Cornerbacks. They knew that, and brought in veteran Chris Carr (last seen on the Minnesota Vikings in the preseason) as the team's 4th CB.
No word on what the corresponding roster move will be, but there has been rumblings that Nate Kaeding might be headed to the Injured-Reserve list with his groin injury.
From the Chargers:
"Chris is an experienced player," said Head Coach Norv Turner. "I was fortunate to be with him for a couple years in Oakland. He's played at a high level in this league. He's been a starter so he brings experience. He can play in the slot and on the outside. He's a good addition for us."

After bringing veteran CB Chris Carr in for a workout last weekend, the Chargers have seemingly signed him to bolster their secondary before facing the Saints.
