Around SBN: Win or Lose, Boston Celtics' New Big 3 Era A Success

Tomlinson told San Diego's XEPRS-AM this week, "I am contemplating retirement. That's what I told my coaches and told my agent and everybody. That's exactly what it is. This is the first time in my playing career that I've actually honestly thought ... this may be it for me. That's kinda where I am right now."

"Absolutely would consider [going back to the Chargers]. I would consider all teams. I'm going to listen to it and talk to the family about it. That doesn’t mean I would take that offer, but I would consider it."

doubt it'll happen

but personally I would love to see LT back as a charger for one more year. He’s accepted his role as a third down back and has proven he’s still got some of the juice left. But I’m probably just being sentimental as he’s probably not an upgrade over tolbert and I doubt he sign on to be third on the depth chart. At least he doesnt fumble …

I just don't see the upside of bringing him back.

He just isn’t that good any more.

Personality conflict and pride issues aside

he’s at least as good as Tolbert in pass protection, and his ability to not fumble the ball might make up for any difference in receiving skills between the two.

Plus

I’m in love with him. So there’s that.

called it lol

Called this like 2 days ago. Ticket sales would jump. It would most likely be his last yr in the league. We would use him sparingly(3rd down back at most) I would love to see him get half the passes that Tolbert gets. Could be nice. I would for sure go see at least 1 or 2 home games just because LT was back. Awesome PR move. Imagine the type of inspired play we would get from RM24 with his idol as his mentor!

Yeah I would go to a game or to just to watch LT one more time

The Chargers should do it because it will give a lot of fans a reason to be interested early on in the season.

A lot of fans are still upset at AJ and Norv coming back, bringing LT back would help things as far as PR is concerned.

I’m starting to like Brinkley a lot, so I dont see where LT would fit in the rotation. Barring a Tolbert trade or injury, i doubt we’ll ever see him where a Bolts jersey ever again.

Narrator: I am Jack's smirking revenge.

I really hope enough water has gone under Tue bridge that he be wearing a chargers Jersey on the day he does officially retire. Seems right

Tolbert is a free agent this year

So he could very well just walk.

The staff doesn't like Brinkley a lot.

Nor do I for that matter.

He's just not very effective.

AJ might just bring LT back

to sell tickets and gain some respect back from the fans

To pretty much everyone who posted here:

LT is not coming back. Not to play here, not as long as AJ Smith is the GM. He’ll prob do the one day contract thing when he retires, but (at the risk of repeating John’s recent mistake) it would be a hat eating worthy event if LT was to ever suit up again for the Bolts.

Also, Tolbert is a free agent, so there’s no guarantee he’ll be back either.

I say if we sign Tomlinson that John should eat a second hat.

if we don't sign garay or franklin

maybe we could draft Alameda Ta’amu for NT, only if he slips to us in the 2nd

but only if he falls.
