Manusky out! "insert name here"  in!

Granted the team was missing a few key personnel……………..this happens every year (more than usual the last 3), but it appeared at least from a distance that the defensive schemes the team was running were just soft. Frequently rushing only 3 of 4 defenders and playing a soft zone over the top.

It’s the lack of aggressiveness that I had a problem with. OK…………..so we didn’t have elite pash rushers in the front 7 with the exception of Barnes………………noted. But I felt like more could have been done to manufacture a pass rush by being more aggressive with the play calling. Frankly I’d rather lose being aggressive than get picked apart while being ultra conservative and tentative.

We just didn’t seem to be able to get after opposing QBs and even excellent secondaries will look bad when an NFL QB has all day to survey the field and deliver the football.

I’m not sure there is currently an extensive list of DCs with experience running the 3-4. If Pagano gets the job I just hope we’re a more aggressive defense next year.

This San Diego defense used to really strike fear into opponents with the front 7, got a lot of sacks and turnovers.

Hoping to add a dynamic pass rusher at OLB and another playmaker at SS.

I am all for someone being promoted and his brother is the DC in Baltimore so maybe he will shock us.
Unfortunately for Manusky there had to be a scapegoat and he was it.
The good news for Charger fans if AJ and Norv dont get it right next season they will be the scapegoats well we all pray they will…..
