Here is a fun game...
Here are some quotes from each press conference following the Chargers disastrous 2010 and 2011 seasons. Can you pick which quotes match which year? Good Luck. Note - seasonal references have been omitted.
A. “These players respect Norv Turner. I think they have great admiration for him. If the players don’t have confidence in their coach, you’re not going to be successful.” Dean Spanos
B. “Norv took over a good team and I think he’s done a good job under some trying circumstances. I hate to make excuses, but I don’t (care). It’s hard to win without players. This year, I’ve never seen anything like it. I know injuries are a (bleep) excuse..." Dean Spanos
C. “The easiest thing in the world is to start over. Who the hell do I go hire? Blow the whole thing up? We’re a pretty good team but we have to make the right moves. It could have been our draft picks or our free-agent moves ..." Dean Spanos
D. “When you have a coach that is competent, loyal and trustworthy and you believe in him, you stay the course,” AJ Smith
answers after the break...
All of these quotes are from 2010's presser.

I am going to bookmark
and re-use this post next year
On the other hand, you have different fingers.
To be honest,
I believe Spanos when he says all those nice things about Norv. I’ve never met the guy, but from everything I’ve read and heard, he’s a very nice, open and friendly person that inspires a strong loyalty among the players, but thats not the problem. The problem is that when the team isn’t in perfect condition (when all the starters are present and in perfect health), he can’t find a way to win, and in the off chance he gets to the playoffs, he chokes. Are we running an NFL team here or a day care center trying to keep all the little kiddies happy.
The starters weren't all present and healthy during the 4-1 finish to the season.

but what was the quality of teams we were playing during that stretch?
week 13 – Jags (5 – 11) won, should have won
week 14 – Bills (6 – 10) won, should have won
week 15 – Ravens (12 – 4) won
week 16 – Lions (10 – 6) lost
week 17 – Raiders (8 – 8) won, should have won
so even without a completely healthy team I still see 3 outta those 4 wins that we should have one anyways because the opponent just wasn’t that good. And the Ravens win coupled with the Lions loss basically just evens things out
The Raiders game was a should have won? Why were they underdogs then?

Interesting that they NOW start to give a damn about "continuity"
when after the best season of the decade, the FO fired the head coach and allowed both coordinators to walk.

Please, call me StrangeBro.
The coordinators have to be allowed to interview for HC jobs. Both got hired. Then the HC intentionally got himself fired.
Then the coaches they brought in were selected in large part because they wanted to maintain continuity of scheme. I’m not sure what you’re talking about.
