Follow the money: What Chargers made in 2011 - Kevin Acee
Nine of the 28 Chargers who counted more than $1 million against the salary cap missed at least three games in 2011. In all, 11 of the team’s 33 highest-paid players (base salary and bonuses actually paid in 2011) missed a combined 103 games this season, earning a total of $17.957 million for those games they were mere spectators.

Checking Larry English's Scouting Report Going Into Draft - Ernie Padaon
Since we are going over all kinds of different scouting reports on players at the Senior Bowl and we will go over more at the combine in preparation for the draft, I wanted to look back at a few scouting reports from some of our current players. Today, we will go over Larry English (thanks go out to Staff Writer Phil for this request).
FO Mailbag: Do FO's Opponent Adjustments Matter? - Aaron Schatz
Jason, your e-mail specifically addresses the question of how strength of schedule correlates to opponent adjustments. (Remember, DVOA is adjusted for both offensive and defensive opponent strength, even though the acronym just has "D.") However, the article on igglesblog makes two points.

Ouch
I didn’t realize that having a silly haircut made one “completely insane”.
For those who want some solace that Antonio is not an “awful player” look here: Garay ranked #2 pass rusher among defensive tackles. .
I guess reasonable people can disagree.
More impressive that Cam Thomas is on the list
And I’ve spent all season subtley praising him. Him and Garay are the two reasons I’d love to see a hybrid defense, or a 46 defense

they both rush the passer well. So they play 1st down
rest 2nd, and come back for 3rd if there isn’t a conversion.

I like PFF a lot but their rating system can be a bit flawed in grading

True of any grading system, including DVOA
At least in this case they were actually looking at Garay and not soley at team statistics which might or might not reflect his accomplishments as accurately, at FO did. I won’t go so far as to claim Garay as an elite player, but I think he deserves better than to be dismissed as "awful".
U much killd him with that one bro...... Y r people always hating on Garay?
