Take one step forward ? I'm referring particularly to those who had Casey Mathews as a good choice for us in last years draft , and there were plenty of you so don't try that artful dodger crap . Casey has now been moved to WLB , a spot some thought more fitting to the little guy when he a draft prospect . The flip-side of this is there is no visible reason to date to believe the ILBs we drafted the last two Aprils will fare any better at the spot so it isn't as if we whiffed on him . Let's take a early peek at the LB class of 2012 .
Vontaze Burfict- 6'3 250 ASU ILB : Badass all the way , fast hitter who will intimidate . A JR likely to declare and will in all likelihood wind up on Goddell's speed dial .
Courtney Upshaw- 6'2 265 Ala ILB/OLB versatile hitter who plays all over . SR
Dont'a Hightower 6'4 260 Ala ILB A big guy who moves well . RSJR
Manti Te'o 6'2 255 ND ILB - a true inside guy- JR
Bruce Irvin 6'2 250 WVU OLB/DE - pure pass rusher SR
Brandon Jenkins 6'3 265 FSU OLB/DE kind of thin but his effort impresses . JR
Jonathan Massaquoi 6'2 250 Troy OLB/DE- Get ready for the inevitable comparisons with Ware , but he's not . JR
Melvin Ingram 6'2 276 DE/OLB - Having a big senior year , plays DE/DT/OLB two point stance / three point stance - he's like Savoire Faire - he's everywhere . Best at attacking QB . SR
Shane Skov would of been listed had he not suffered a blown knee - Kuechly I feel is too small for a 3-4 . Enjoy the year , wish Butler and Mouton nothing but the best .
