First 2 years of any contract are guaranteed. So, $13M for signing bonus + $1M 2011 salary + $5M 2012 salary = $19M guaranteed.

Interesting look at NFL deal making.I haven’t seen napkin scribble that interesting since the Randy Duke Cunningham scandal.

First articles like this make history come alive. You really get a sense for how free-form this stuff happens. How long do you think it took him to scribble this? A few seconds? One of the biggest deals of the season.
