3 of them are currently franchised and one isn’t even in the union yet.
I wonder how they came to this list.
I can think of two reasons for including a rookie in the suit. First, one of the major negotiating points is a rookie wage scale. The top picks get a ridiculous amount of money and the slotting process is out of control. Second, if the union decertifies and sues the league for anti-trust violations, one argument is that draftees are not allowed to choose their employer ( aka there is a draft); so you need a helpless, union-less, victim rookie to say that he wants to choose his employer.
