Around SBN: Win or Lose, Boston Celtics' New Big 3 Era A Success

Needs a couple years to develop. Nice back-up to have. The question is when is it late enough to draft a back-up QB?

are you serious?

if you are then i thank god you are not the bolts GM. Not to be rude but that would be one of the dumbest moves in the history of the draft.

Put another way, you're ahead of your time, man.

Drafting a non-need position on player value alone

Is not a good strategy. The superior alternative is seeing it as an opportunity to trade down and get extra value.

I’m not convinced that Locker is a steal at #18, but if any top-10 pick at a non-need position is available, I’d look at the few teams that pick after me. If any of them probably wants him, I’d look at the few teams that pick after them, and offer them a deal that has me winning on “value” but lets this other team get the guy they want.

Then San Diego should NOT draft him!

There are too many positions of need to be addressed elsewhere. This would be a wasted pick at 18, particularly since dude would be relegated to clipboard duties and would have no prospect of playing in the next 3 years barring a catastrophic injury to Rivers.

I agree with other comments indicating it could be a good spot to move down and acquire additional picks if someone was looking to grab Locker.

Seattle at 25 would be the best possibility of making this happen (25th pick in 1st and 4th).

Perhaps the Redskins (Top of 2nd and 5th round picks).
