If I stop giving signs of life doesn't mean I stopped listening

I’m supposed to be writing a paper for college, instead of commenting on the internet or listening to radio. or with 10 open tabs on PFF.

I can't lie.

I’m really only here for the ‘Norv impersonates fan’ phone in.

I get mixed feelings about our past two drafts

Sure, some of the good picks have been Great, but some… have been almost a non-factor. I’m not sure that should be expected of later picks or what, but it still leaves an unconfortable feeling in my mouth.

Also, it’s bad note is that no rookies this year are going to the rookie MVP race.

Question:

I didn’t think benching Cason was the right move. Gilchrist was shredded on Monday night, what do you think of the move and result?

Dielman on Rivers: "I've tried to get him to say s--- or f--- and all he'll ever do is say, 'Golly gee, I can't do that."

No, I don't agree. But that's Hindsight

Maybe they should be interchangeble?
Physical receivers → Play Butler
Needs better Coverage/Technique → Go for Cason
Problem is, it’s not an easy change to make during game day if one of them is playing poorly.

You mean Gilchrist?

Not trying to be a troll.

by Madcat5 on Nov 5, 2011 7:35 PM PDT up reply actions

If you take it one game at a time

And forget who still is on the schedule, you can be optimistic about the Chargers. “Oh they lost, next week, they’ll surely recover” (x5 until we’re already out of the playoffs)

by Lightning Hobo on Nov 5, 2011 10:05 AM PDT reply actions

Mistakes =/= Penalties

It’s REALLY hard not to make mistakes, bad reads, underthrows, blown coverage… That’s something that can’t be taken for granted.

Has anyone realized how weird it is

To have a commercial about buying tvs on the radio? A few years back people would wonder, “are you TRYING to go out of business?”

I'm still getting over that "biggest no brainer in the history of mankind" guy.

It's weird

That kind of sales pitch seems specially effective (or popular) in USA than other places. “I got a secret that makes me smarter than other people, you can be too.” Like that one about secrets of teeth whitening, dieting secrets or getting ripped in 3 weeks with no exercise.

Davis had Talent

But he spent so much time hurt, that he was catching balls with his body, not his hands. That’s pretty bad.

until the pressure gets to him and he throws the ball into his own face.

That explains Rivers fumble against the Jets then

Its gonna take another week to figure out the fumble against the Chiefs, though.

Also, rec’ed. If you get one rec, that means 50% of approval!

I just don't want that half assed zone stuff we saw against NE

Brady just dinked his way down the field. Rogers will do the same. I say we green light the D to get in his face and tell him he’s only half as freaky as his mom.

zone works against teams that have route concepts based on timing.

the key, is getting pressure.

Bengals, Wildcard?

I didn’t know you were already at the Bold predictions section.

Honestly, I haven’t seen them play.

NE is gonna be bothersome if they get home advantage in the playoffs. (Not a Chargers problem though! Bazinga.)

It’s gonna look like NE vs. NYG Superbowl.

by Lightning Hobo on Nov 5, 2011 11:09 AM PDT reply actions

When people talk elite QBs

They only mention people who has won Rings. Even if he was playing at his best, most people wouldn’t call him elite, like what happened with Manning when Brady had 2 rings, like with Bress before he won and like with Rogers before last season.

by Lightning Hobo on Nov 5, 2011 11:12 AM PDT reply actions

That’s the classic feel around the idea of leadership. IDK.

Did we start passing a lot more since the bye

Because we been shaky on RB health or was it somekind of shock therapy when we passed 66% against the Jets to force Rivers into gear for the brutal strech?

If I have Rogers as my QB

Can I make him play awful so SD wins the game? How do I call an INT? Or a 45 yards backward pass?

The unfortunate thruth is that sometimes Health > (on-field) Talent

We had a lot of injuries these past years, some would even question the conditioning coaches in the organization, so much that I sometimes forget the value of those roster spots they occupy.

by Lightning Hobo on Nov 5, 2011 11:46 AM PDT reply actions

It's going to be awful

If Palmer can be the QB they hope he can be. That would mean the Raiders are a good team when we face them in 2 weeks.
