Bolts From The Blue Community Poll: How Did You Find Us?

Completely unrelated picture of a cheerleader? You're welcome. (Photo by Stephen Dunn/Getty Images)

A site news post? Yeah, those are always fun. Thank you in advance, readers, for taking a moment to respond to our poll asking how you found your way to Bolts from the Blue. We're trying to evaluate the different means we use to reach San Diego Chargers fans and your responses will help us to do so.

Also, if you wouldn't mind letting us know how you find your way to our humble blog on a regular basis in the comments, that too would be most appreciated. Have you bookmarked us and made it part of your regular rotation, or do you pick and choose articles as you see them promoted on Twitter, Facebook, Yahoo, etc.?

Without readers, the blog serves no purpose other than to make John Gennaro feel important, so thank you again for helping us to reach more of you. Anyways, back to our regular programming tomorrow. Go Chargers!

I don't even remember

Maybe through the Chargers Facebook page. I used to go on those forums for a while.

I have BFTB bookmarked on my phone. I downloaded the App, but I didn’t like it.

I think I actually like the app, but I really don't care for change.

I was booted from chargers.com

for saying Buster had a sprained vagina. The mod kindly recommended this site, pretty sure he is/was a writer here

Yahoo sports

Checking the Chargers’ schedule one day. The sports page is Yahoo’s only redeeming quality. Started reading BFTB because I loved the X & O posts, which promptly disappeared…

I hate them so much.

Their sports page is just too convenient.

Definitely saw it on yahoo sports when reading about the chargers.

Google search of ‘bolts’ and now SB Nation on my phone. More often now since the UT went Facebook.

I never liked UT commenting anyways

pretty sure

from SI.com on the chargers page. I’v always had about 8 or 9 sites for the bolts, found this blog and love it.
To be honest i was a little off put at first, thought the people were a little snarky (its a word!) but once i learned how things were done in these parts I really started enjoy it and the people. Also the running jokes are great. Speaking of, we should really switch to the 4-3!

espn.com -> afc west -> local news

The guy the does the AFC west blog is lame. He would just post 7 line articles or he would paraphrase what we just read on the espn home page from John Clayton.

I was talking to my brother about training camp a few years ago,

and he had all this info about UFA’s. I asked where he got all the inside scoop on the Bolts, so he told me about Bolts from the Blue. I have since recommended this site to other hardcore Charger fans.

I was searching for an excellent Chargers site

And found this one through SB nation (via the wondrous GLB).

I have this page bookmarked and visit it at least 7 times a week. In the offseason I even miss JG’s grumpy half-time summaries before Norv et al make the necessary adjustments for us to storm back into the game.

The site has kept on improving since I’ve been around, but I do miss the X and O’s.

First comment because I've been too lazy to sign in.

Im an 18 year old Chargers fan from the bay area. I consider myself the biggest (more like “only”) Chargers fan up there. I recently moved to Santa Barbara for college so I’m sorta closer to my dear Bolts now. Oorah! I found BFTB on the Sprint NFL app before it went to Verizon. Anyways, a little about myself: I’m at the City College in SB ( surprised at how few Chargers fans there are even though I’m only 4 hours from SD), Long time BFTB reader, Marine Corps poolee (I leave to boot camp Jan 3 — yeah, I get to miss my Chargers choking in the playoffs, but the hope that maybe they’ll have won a Superbowl by the time I get out of boot will help me get through), also, I’m the manager for SBCCharge on the BFTB 2 fantasy league. Dont make fun of me for not having a good RB. I have Calvin Johnson, so suck on that!

I Googled "Feast of San Gennaro"

And must have spelled a few words wrong….

by TennesseeTuxeD'Oh! on Oct 7, 2011 6:24 AM PDT via mobile reply actions   1 recs

I googled for more information about who the chargers might draft in 2010

I found this site as well as bleacher report (which I have since not really paid attention to). I came in and out last year (since I was busy with college) and came back during draft time this year, and finally became a regular reader just before preseason started this year. I lurked for the first couple of games, and finally gave in and created an account this past week so I could comment on here (though I was tempted quite a few times since I started reading BFTB).

I have always loved stats and finding out about the x’s and o’s so this site immediately grabbed me. I especially love the playbook confidential, and I have been tempted to do analysis similar to it ever since I read Pat Kirwan’s “Take your eye off the ball” where he outlines the way of looking at formations in exactly the same way BFTB does (11 for 1 rb and 1 te for example).

I have also been starved for Chargers news ever since I left the San Diego area (went to college in Northern Arizona, then got a job in Boise, ID of all places). Since I am going to (theoretically) get the game for the first time here I can actually watch it live instead of bouncing in and out between here and nfl.com followed by watching the game in the early morning the next day on nfl rewind.

Thanks for having a great community, and I foresee coming back here for a long time.

My Fanatic Son Recommended you

And, you are so good, I cancelled my ESPN insider account that I have had forever. (That also had something to do with them giving frontpage coverage to a hot dog eating contest. Then they sent me a magazine with Blake Griffon naked on the cover. Anyway…) I’ve been a Bolts fan since Johnny U was the QB. I can’t get enough stats, coverage, tidbits, rants etc. I really hope they win the SB before I go to the big endzone in the sky.

Thanks for all the good work.
