Nausea ? Upset Stomach ?  Might want to keep the Pepto nearby because the brand of football being produced in San Diego will cause the bile to rise , again .  It's times like these that the lack of a forceful personality  ( particularly on defense ) strikes me as one glaring reason the team cannot impose it's will on opponents . The leadership vacuum is apparent every time the going gets tough and the intestinal fortitude of the team is tested . This has been an ongoing issue since the departure of both Rod and JR , though Merriman did a fair job at it during his short stint here .

I find the the most detrimental effect of this is the erosion of fan faith in the HC , GM and of course the team itself , including myself and I've seen much worse squads than this . The expectations cultured with the last decade's success is a double edged sword , yes the team has won more games than probably any other 10 year span in team history , while at the same time teasing the fans with limited playoff success and zero appearances in the big game ( Just how in the hell did Boss Ross get his squad to the SB ? )  .  The current dilemma will undoubtedly be cause for several Pepto doses as both team and fans alike struggle to digest the inability of the 2011 Chargers to determine their own destiny . The next 10 games will allow us all to draw conclusions as to which direction the organization is headed . Maybe a sponsorship from the makers of Pepto can be arranged with the Bolts , the color is apropos and they can change the name to Pepto A-Bysmal .  Fasten those safety belts !
