Worst conversation of the night: Vincent Jackson.
Here’s how my convo with VJ went down. "hey VJ, how’s it going" as we shake hands "good man, how you been?" (we’ve run into each other a few times at Miller’s Field and Shore Club in PB, so he might’ve recognized me) "great, man. so glad you came back… was really nice to have you out there. I hope you stay for next year." His response? "Bro, I live here, I never left." and he walked away. What a dick.
Listen, VJ, I get that you’re pissed at AJ about the contract and the money you lost, but guess what… nobody cares. You handled that situation like a dumbass and so did he, and you both paid the price. The Bolts missed the playoffs and you missed your payday. You never left? You left the field, dude.
You think when AGo is playing in Boston next year he’s gonna tell Padres fans he never left b/c he still owns a place up in Mt. Soledad? No, b/c he’s not an idiot. So, get off your high horse and carry out a conversation with someone who’s clearly complimenting you and your play on the field.
Off the field? Just one more ‘case in point’ of your idiocy and poor judgment. Oh, and you suck at bowling too.

Sounds like Gaslamp Baller LobShots was unimpressed with Vincent Jackson last night.

I think VJ has a right to be grumpy about the contract situation. Did he handle it well? Probably not, but he is one of the best WRs in the game and he won’t be paid like it despite being a free agent. All due to a obscure rule in the CBA. Now his payday is probably going to be put off another year due to CBA uncertainty, and this in a sport where athletes have a very limited shelf life. Probably the last thing he wants to be get into a discussion about it with some dude he barely knows in a bowling alley.
Just let VJ bowl… All he wants is to bowl. And let the man who has rolled 300 cast the first stone at another man’s bowling skills.

Nobody has said that to him before, and since it was his first time hearing it, he wasn’t even tired of hearing it in the least.
Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? ◔ヮ◔

Agree with JG
Here’s why:
http://www.boltsfromtheblue.com/2011/1/28/1961346/the-san-diego-chargers-should-be-nicer
“Nice having you back on the field! Hope to see you again next year”.
Acceptable answers:
“Thanks” or “Appreciate it” or “Me too” or “Thanks for your Support” or “You’re right, let’s have a beer!”
Well, maybe not the last one, but, see how easy it is to come up with a normal, nice answer? He’s a professional. He gets paid what I will probably never earn in a lifetime in 1 year of work, because God blessed him with athletic ability and the will to help him work hard and be in a position where he can make as much money as he does.
But with great power comes etc. You have to be great off the field as you are on the field. Being a dick, a drunk driver, making dumb decisions, etc. has landed him in the position he is right now.
I understand the man must hate being asked the same questions over and over, but the way JG wrote his post, it seems like he was just being supportive and got a “leave me alone plebian” answer.
Narrator: I am Jack's smirking revenge.
I agree with this, but....
because God blessed him with athletic ability and the will to help him work hard and be in a position where he can make as much money as he does.
That doesn’t necessarily mean that he was also blessed with an engaging personality or people skills.
Let’s face it, being a dick to John in a 10-second coversation when he could have been hafl-way cool, won’t affect VJ’s life in the slightest. I would guess he’s a dick like this all the time, but people keep coming up to him thrilled to meet him and that their big fans. In his mind, why should he do anything different.
From his perspective, he can be a dick and people still love him.
The thong is, it happened.
Oops, I thought this was a conversation John had with him
my point still remains
The thong is, it happened.
I wish I could respond to this honestly
but some things just should not be printed on the site.

Give me a break
He doesn’t like the way VJ responded to him, big deal. Who knows how VJ took what he said or exactly what VJ meant when he responded to him. Thats what VJ gets for showing up at the event. He should have just said that he didn’t have time for it, but then he would have got bashed for not going.
“Lobshots” commented that Randy Jones was the best conversation of the night because he dropped f bombs every 4 seconds. I wonder if it would have been considered just as “cool” if VJ was the one dropping the f bombs.
People need to chill out a little, there are some people that you may not like and there are some people who probably don’t like you.

a little clarification...
lobshots here… as most of you have figured out, the conversation with VJ and Randy Jones was with me, not John Gennaro. nice to know that you all have an opinion on what I wrote in the same way I had an opinion on what VJ said. Since this post, VJ and I have spoken again… so, there are more developments… once I post about it, I’ll be sure to let you all know. cheers.
