Sproles KR/PR?

Quick question from a NC State Alum (which makes the chargers and Philip Rivers my 2nd team after the Panthers)

I play in a fantasy league that rewards points of KR/PR yards as well as TD's.  I was trying to find an official depth chart but couldn't find one for KR/PR.

Anyone know if Darren Sproles will still be handling those duties or has he moved on?  I looked through the preseason box scores and it appeared he had a few touches back there, but there were some others that got a chance and had some pretty good returns!  Just wondering your guys thoughts.  Are they just saving him some wear and tear during the pre-season and the job is ultimately his, or is he too valuable as a RB now to have back there getting kamikazed every Sunday?

Thanks!

He should be the first stringer for both

He won’t have much competition, I don’t think, but if he does it will come from either Buster Davis or the new guy Patrick Crayton.
Expect Sproles to get about 90% of both punts and kicks.

He didn’t get many touches in preseason for reasons you described in addition to the fact that they needed to evaluate the camp bodies as well (that’s why Banks, Davis, Williams and Goodman got a lot of returns).

Most here expect Sproles to get about 25-30% of the RB touches this year, which will be slightly less than last year, so he may be more fresh on returns.

He’s probably still handling both, but there’s been much discussion about Crayton taking over PR.

Sproles has never been that good on punt returns.

Thanks

Great input, I appreciate the quick response… and for return yards KR is more valuable because you don’t get as many out of punts, although hopefully he won’t have to return many kicks this year!!!

Thanks guys and good luck!

He'll definitely be the starting KR.

PR? Depends on the distance, I’d think.

Well considering we put the two understudies on the practice squad

both WIlliams and Goodman show some success on returns and they are not on teh team right now. Buster Davis was back there, but I don’t expect him to return in the regular season.

They might ask Crayton, but at this point I’d say Sproles is a pretty sure beat to be the #1 returner for the Chargers.
