Chargers Preseason: Longtime Charger DT Ryon Bingham Cut
via Kevin Acee:
Bingham released. Chargers claim CB Fred Bennett off waivers from Houston -- ka
Ryon Bingham, one of the longer-tenured Chargers players (he was the Chargers' 7th round pick in 2004) , was released today but it was pretty obvious that he wasn't going to make the team this season after spending all of the 2009 campaign on Injured-Reserve. Best of luck to him catching on with another team.
Fred Bennett is just a guy being brought in for secondary depth in the 49ers game.

wouldnt be that surprised
if he signs with the broncos now that i think about it. Jamal went back to his old d-line coach, possibly bingham do the same

i've been thinking the same thing
ever since Acee first mentioned Bingham not making the team…

Bingham
ehhhh we can do without him, were so stacked at d-linemen. Anyone one in the front 7 easily replaceable. Its our secondary that worries me if were not putting any pressure on opposing QB’s, theyll go right over the top for big plays that have always killed us. My boy Eric Weddle needes some help back there
Look out for Darrell Stuckey
He is one of my favorite players in NCAA last year. He is really good.
The game was delayed for over 15 minutes with 5:07 left in the second quarter after France's Nicolas Batum, who plays for the Portland Trail Blazers, dunked and twisted the rim. Officials scrambled to put a new rim on the basket and reattach a net.
Not so far
He hasn’t shown much this preseason. Though he is the fastest guy in the secondary, I think. He has looked lost; maybe losing time in the offseason set him back. I’m confident he will learn the ropes and make an impact, but he has been clearly outplayed by Gregory so far.

He's also had to miss some significant time with injuries.
No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong about that.

Simple as that.

Not so far.... Id have to agree
Hes fast as heck but he hasnt gotten a grasp of the d just yet and that comes with being a rookie. I’d say he needs to get beaten bad a couple of times and by the middle of the season he’ll be just fine and take that starting job. Gregory has been with the team for a while already, hes clearly a run defender hint we need someone who can help out Antoine Cason when they take his arse deep!

It’s confusing because you already have a comment field available, but it helps for conversation purposes.
Back to football. You’re right that Gregory has shown himself to be more of a run defender, but that seems to be what the team wants. As for Cason, I don’t think there’s any reason to worry. Of the two plays I remember where he was beat for a TD, one was pure luck on the popup and the other was confusion about the zone, not any lack of ability from Cason. Learning the zone will take a little time, as he hasn’t had a lot of on-field experience at RCB. His talent man-to-man is unquestionable. He just needs to pick up the system.

i’m guessing they like what they see form martin and thomas. or, the injury hasn’t quite progressed?
The peanut gallery has spoken!!!
Probably more the second. Bingham was never really competing with those guys.

In my opinion were a team full of run defenders. Im more concerned about whats going to happen when when cant get any pressure on Brady and we have to worry about Moss, Welker and company running around. Those arent match ups that favor the Bolts, tho i really really hate to say. I was a die hard Charger fan when no one was!! I was 12 years old and the only kid with a Seau “55” jersey and took a lot of crap for it so i just call it how i see it. But if our offense is on the field with under 2 minutes left, I’m betting the ranch Phillip puts it in the endzone!! This is our year no joke!!! no more missed field goals (Nate) and ill see you guys in Dallas!!!
