This is sort of the Chargers’ plan and hope for Jeremy Williams, a first-year, free-agent wideout from Tulane with a degree in graphic arts and a similarly creative sense when it comes to his position. They like the idea of having a young receiver who comes in as a relative unknown and remains well under the radar, but has the skills to challenge for a role on a pass-minded team. - As names change for Chargers, will they remain contenders? | USATODAY.com

The cellphone rings, and it's A.J. Smith, the Chargers' general manager. He said he wasn't going to be talking about the holdouts -- wideout Vincent Jackson, tackle Marcus McNeill, linebacker Shawne Merriman -- after this week, so I wanted to get in under the wire. - 3 Questions For: Malcom Floyd | 619Sports

I think it's funny that
Since Merriman isn’t around right now, the media is including him with a group of guys that are “vital to this organization’s path to the Super Bowl” when last year the same media was questioning Merriman’s ability to begin with.
Oh internet, what a wicked web you weave.
They do not exist to be right
They just want stories, and consistency or accuracy have little if anything to do with that. It’s the nature of national media. Locals aren’t usually so bad in that respect. But you probably knew that already.
Trotter
hates Charger management; all his stuff is pretty questionable.

Wow
The LT I grew up with, the guy who exemplified class, the guy I thought “got it” – that not one athlete was bigger than the game of football….to hear that Rivers and the rest of the guys in the locker-room were revlieved that Tomlinson is gone, and to hear LT’s douchebagginess towards it all in that story in NBC sports….the guy I thought I knew, the guy who showed class on and off the field……that was all just smoke and mirrors. That’s a certain level of betrayl that really hurts as a Charger fan.

Yep.
It’s getting harder and harder to defend him nowadays. His prima donna demeanor is becoming more and more apparent and you know it was difficult for him to accept Rivers as the new leader of the offense.
It’ll be very interesting what he has to say this season when he’s not doing well and can’t exactly blame the OLine since, you know, they’re one of the best in the league. Maybe he’ll throw Rex under the bus this time, heh.

I feel sorry for that bus
No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong about that.

I have noticed with many charger fans
when the player leaves, or it looks like he may leave, it becomes harder and harder to defend them (or easier to bash them). I thought he was a bit of a pouty crybaby when things didn’ t go his way even when he was a Charger, surprise he hasn’t changed.
Ugly
Man the LT-Chargers relationship keeps getting uglier. I hope years down the road this can be overlooked.
"I'M NOT GOING TO ASK HIM FOR F_CKING TICKETS, DEX. I DON'T NEED A DEAL ON A F_CKING LUXURY SUITE." - Mike
I'm sure it will be
It’s just kind of fun to get caught up in the drama now, but this will all be forgotten years from now.
"Don’t get nervous. Norv is in charge."
I agree
Especially because there isn’t really a “smoking gun” here. If a story came out where he bitch-slapped a teammate or there was video of some tirade against the organization or something it’d be different. This stuff is exactly the kind of stuff that gets lost in the fuzzy memories of the past. Plus, you can almost say that the bad teammate stuff is all in his decline phase, which is the part of his career that will be overlooked anyway. People will remember the first 6 or 7 years of his career the most.
No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong about that.

Exactly
When i think back to LT, I’ll remember the 2006 season.
"Don’t get nervous. Norv is in charge."
That and
the 2001-2003 seasons where he was the one bright light in some of the darker days. He was the one thing making the Chargers relevant.

Bolts from the Blue - General Manager: It is what it isn't
I'll have to revive those memories of 2001-2003
They’ve been locked away for a while now. 2004 is the first real memory I have of the modern-day Chargers, heh.

Nice to see..
