Chargers Sign Donald Butler to 4-Year Deal
After announcing the signing of DT Cam Thomas earlier today, the Chargers have announced that LB Donald Butler has been signed as well. The third-round pick is expected to be in the mix at MLB along with Brandon Siler, Stephen Cooper and Kevin Burnett.
This leaves starting RB Ryan Mathews as the only unsigned draft pick for the Chargers, and he's already promising not to hold out. If he gets in soon, like it appears he will, we have to start forgetting about the Chargers reputation for being tough to deal with when signing rookies....right?

So glad to see AJ putting his ego aside and doing what’s best for the team for once by signing these rookies.
GO CHARGERS!!

And PFT just reports today
That only half of all draft picks in the league have now been signed, so the Chargers are actually ahead of the game in that regard. Plus, no first-round picks, and only 1 second-round pick have been signed in the entire league.

Two in one day!
I guess the FO is back from vacation!
So when does Mathews sign?
Far more excited
about this signing than Thomas.

Nice
I’ve never seen this guy play, but he looks like he could run through a brick wall.

good news
Now, hopefully they can get mathews signed. Looking forward to having a “balanced” attack on offense. Hopefully, the defense will be a pleasant surprise also. I would like to see Ron Rivera be a little more aggressive with the D though.
Seriously.
I miss when the chargers actually got sacks and interceptions.

With Butler
… and Burnett I’m really feeling good about our LB pass coverage. Better this year than last.
At that time Burnett was new to the scheem and we didn’t know how he would cover. Now we have a known comodity in Burnett and a great new prospect in Bulter. We get a performance motivated & healthy Merriman back in the fold and I think our LB corps is taking a step up in 2010!
