Left tackle Ryan Clady (knee) is on the non-football injury list and linebacker Darrell Reid (knee) and nosetackle Jamal Williams have been placed on the league's physically unable to perform list. None of the three are expected to practice when the team begins full-team workouts Sunday. Williams missed most of last season in San Diego with a torn biceps.
Broncos begin training camp without Tebow, Thomas
Additionally, it's being reported that Jamal will not be removed from the PUP list until he passes the physical.

I pretty much expected this to happen
Many players who miss the previous season start out on the PUP list in training camp.
No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong about that.

Do you think they could void Jwalls deal
If they say he fails his physical he needs to come off PUP
IMO
He already passed a physical in mini-camp
This is a non-issue, only a technicality.

Thanks but no thanks
for the non answer. He needs a physical to come off PUP. I am asking if his deal or some portion of it could possibly be voided if he were to fail that physical. I already know that him being on PUP to start the season for failing a conditioning test could be one way the team could attempt to recoup funds already paid
IMO
I think the team holds all the cards on that front
If they say he can play – he plays
If they say he’s broke down and can’t ever play again – they cut him and he probably screw him out of some cash. Just like some successful players fail to honor their full contract, the teams do likewise when they send the players off to the glue factory.

Yep this sounds about right to me
I dont think they could void his whole deal, but they certainly try stand in a position to recoup major coinage by placing him on PUP and then saying he’s he not fit to come off it because he is out of shape.
IMO
Rude much?
I thought I answered you by saying he already passed a team physical. How many physicals do you think he would have to pass for the guarantee “against skill and injury” to kick in? The team can’t wait for four months and two passed physicals to decide that a failed test now alleviates them from their contractual obligations. The team can’t generally get out of paying guaranteed money at this point.
The next point I was getting at is that this is a non-issue. By all accounts, this guy is in great shape and has been working hard. He’s not injured, either. It’s not uncommon for a veteran or rookie to fail a conditioning test when in a new system. Heck, Champ Bailey failed his first test last year. Mount Cody failed this year (and passed the next day).
I don’t care that you don’t like my answer of it being a non-issue. But I’m right. Wait and see..

See above
Very simply put his contract must say that he has to report to camp in good shape. I am sure all contracts given to 30 plus year old 350 pound guys have similar language. If he didnt meet this condition or if they thought he might not, then placing Jwall on PUP could be a prelude to attempt to recoup some or all guarantees already paid. (Or maybe let him think that they were thinking of the option.) Didnt mean to be rude but I have little patience for obvious statements, like the shy is blue or the sun will rise tomorrow. It’s just a theory if you have another, then please feel free to state it. But saying you are right, and not providing a take it pretty lame.
IMO
I already told you contracts aren’t written like that. And that’s not a theory. There’s an amount of the overall contract monies that are “guaranteed against skill and injury”, not “skill and injury and a conditioning test every so often”.
Jamal gets paid is the point. He’s guaranteed to get paid at least $7M after passing the initial physical and signing the contract. That’s why they call it “security” for older vets. That’s why it’s high risk/high reward when you deal with older vets, because you can often get them for cheaper (because they want the longer security), but you still have to pay them if their skill level goes down.
Jamal’s salary is still guaranteed if he is Physically Unable to Perform (P.U.P List)… whether due to injury or skill.
As for my opinion that it’s no big deal, I can’t make it a fact yet. It just takes time. There are a hundred reasons why you put a veteran on the list. Maybe you need roster space and he doesn’t need the extra contact… happens all the time. Maybe he weighed in 3 pounds overweight. Maybe he was 3 seconds behind in his timed runs.
What we do know is that he’s not injured. He’s reportedly in great shape. Coach says it’s temporary. And no moves have been made to replace him.
Like I said, I can’t prove it at this point. I can only say “watch”. These things are absolute common. It’s not common, on the other hand, to put a guy you owe a guaranteed $7M dollars to on the PUP List so that you can try and get rid of him at a later date with nobody to replace him.

While I dont nessisarily disagree with any of this
You are assuming all of his guarantees are in a signing bonus, not in a roster bonus. I do not believe there are a hundred reasons to put a guy on the PUP, esp the PUP that takes up a roster spot. Which you are neglecting to mention. To me the simplest answer is money or an injury. You do wish to consider either which I think is a joke
IMO
Just an FYI
The Super Bowl Champs put Darren Sharper and Marques Colston on the PUP list the other day. These things happen.
