Roy Williams?
Besides Roy Williams name being in the news for having his pads dropped, he may have his name famous for his job being taken, both by Dez Bryant. The chargers have a need at wide receiver and I'm guessing Roy Williams would rather start for a team than sit behind a rookie. Why shouldn't the chargers trade for him? He's a young-ish big target capable of being a #1 or #2 wr. The chargers need him and he may just be available for a trade if he doesn't win his job. A.J. I hope your reading this.

If the Chargers were going to pay Roy Williams 20 mil over the next 3 years
to suck. They might as well pay a good receiver named VJack

roy williams has as much talent as a thimble

Nope
He’s not any good (though he does have Romo throwing to him…) and he’s expensive. Might as well pay the guy we have if we’re paying anybody.
As Amy Whinehouse so eloquently put it...

Roy Williams is not worth it
(nor is he that good).
If this was a T.O. thread I’d be all for it, lol.
Why shouldn't they?

2010: $3,452,629 (+ $9.5 million guaranteed option bonus)
2011: $5,109,971
2012: $6.802 million
2013: $8.498 million
2014: $9 million (voidable)
The thing I don’t get about people recommending TO and RW is….this is a team completely built around the idea that the young, talented players they have are as good as the expensive veterans out in free agency. Why would they abandon that philosophy now? Why get RW when he’s just going to take snaps away from Naanee, and then from Floyd when VJ comes back? Why push your talented young kids down and replace them with someone who costs 5 times as much, and you believe is only as good as the kids he’s pushing down?
Getting TO in his prime, or someone that’s almost assured to play a Pro Bowl level this season….and we only have them for 2 years or something. I could maybe be talked into that. Otherwise, the Chargers are usually pretty good about trusting their kids to come though.

I thought he was the coach at Mt. Helix High
The Padres are good, but make no mistake: we've gotta beef up the linwup.

If San Diego isn’t going to pay VJ or McNeil, what kind of message do you think paying an outsider would send to an already fragile locker room. Plus, well, Williams kinda sucks. The statement that he could play a #1 or #2 WR baffles me a bit. He’s never played a #1 successfully and you could make the argument either way about him having had success at the #2 position.
