I think the Chargers are going to have a tough, much tougher time this season.
I don’t see a lot of improvement anywhere except running back. The Chargers were pretty lucky last year, winning nearly every one-score game they played. It would be asking a lot for them to do it again.

there is a very good chance the secondary will be better
especially if Cason looks good at CB and Vasher and Strickland can backup and play nickel. I think SS was a hole last year and the rookie (or the rookie/Gregory combo) can only look better.
And I think there is a decent chance Merriman will be better. Call me delusional, but his surgery typically takes more than a year to recover from and I’m hoping he’ll be closer to the Merriman of old.
The AFC West continues to aid us in that only the Raiders really improved, and they just got back to a 6-7 win team, not really competitive.

Not sure that Cromartie was ever considered the cornerstone of the defense, but otherwise pretty fair.
