Stadium?
why not lease the LA coliseum for a couple of years, while they demolish the Q, and build a new one there? it’s kind of far fetched, but thinking outside the box may be what’s needed. besides the downtown area will not accommodate the size needed to get any superbowl here. qualcom is a perfect opportunity for a blank slate it could literally be Qualcom City Stadium. it may lose some parking, but i’d think it would be worth it.
peace out
The peanut gallery has spoken!!!
There are number of issues that make other sites better than the Qualcomm site
That site basically went out the window when they couldn’t build condos next to it to subsidize the cost.
No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong about that.

that was also under a different city attorney, and circumstances. it’s worth revisiting if they “really” want to. ultimately i think they like the allure of a downtown stadium like other cities enjoy. which is really what they wanted.

I think
They like the allure of the dollars and tax breaks already earmarked for downtown development as opposed to the Qualcomm site where they’d have to start from scratch to get funding and any sort of tax breaks.

indeed
plus, since this will eventually go to a vote, the proposal needs to capture the imagination. I think Downtown does that better than Mission Valley.
