Crompton eager to learn as Bolts’ No. 3 QB - Nick Canepa
Jonathan David Crompton has the right attitude. Being a No. 3 quarterback in the NFL isn’t a bad gig. You make good money just to pay attention and act serious on the sideline. You’re a groin pull away from No. 2. And, with a little luck, you can be Charlie Whitehurst when you grow up.
Which rookie receiver will grab a spot? - Kevin Acee

ah, the lights come on...
now i see where the chargers a looking to fill their backfield. i hope Brinkley earns a spot, if for any other reason, he’s gone through a lot to get here. i wonder though, if he had made the squad last year, would the running game have looked different in 09?
The peanut gallery has spoken!!!
I'd like to see Ajerotutu grab the inside track for the 5th WR spot
Not a fan of Banks, he didn’t really show anything in the preseason last year and I’m still pissed that they kept him in favor of Charly Martin.
I like me some big wide recievers, so I’d prefer Seyi over Williams. I’d also like to see the kid from Lindenwood, Marcel whatshisname, make an impact.
The Padres are good, but make no mistake: we've gotta beef up the linwup.
If I had a nickel from every SBN blog that has banned me, Arrowhead Pride would owe me 5¢.
Chargers don't carry 5 receivers
Sure, the guy has the same jersey number that other receivers have, but he’s essentially always just a special teams player. Any spread package contains a TE and a RB in this offense in order to exploit defensive matchups, so this position battle is a snoozer to me.
What will be interesting is the dime position on defense, starting safety across Weddle, and the defensive line rotation.
Maybe
But I could also see, Vasher and Strickland both being in on the dime package. Health allowing.
No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong about that.

The Chargers carried
5 receivers last year (6 counting Osgood), before cutting Chambers. Why wouldn’t they carry 5 this year?

Also
A.J. has stated that the 5th WR position is open for a UDFA to win and that’s a big reason of why they were able to get top guys like Seyi Ajirotutu, Jeremy Williams and Earnest Smith. I think I heard him say that they presented on of the best opportunities for any UDFA out there since you could come in and win a job that included a roster spot.
