Shaun Phillips Opens Up Off The Field - RachelSamara
Linebacker for the San Diego Chargers, Shaun Phillips is changing the game on and off the field. NFL Draft MVPs - NFL.com
NFL.com editors narrowed down the first 74 Drafts to a list of the top 320 players. Vote by choosing between pairs of randomly generated players. After selecting winners of 30 matchups, you will begin to build your own Top 10 list. The more you vote, the more precise your list becomes. The top 10 greatest Draft picks will be revealed during the 2010 NFL Draft, which begins Thursday, April 22 at 7:30 pm ET.

AFC draft needs - Pat Kirwan - NFL.com
The Chargers have been very quiet when it comes to acquiring players, while talent has been allowed to leave. Gone are RB LaDainian Tomlinson, CB Antonio Cromartie, TE Brandon Manumaleuna and backup QB Charlie Whitehurst. The draft is where this team builds the roster. There will be a solid running back to consider early in the draft, possibly Ryan Mathews. Replacing a corner, tight end and securing a right tackle will also be priorities.

Chargers looking at the next Gates? - Bill Williamson - ESPN
The Buffalo News reported the Chargers were one of five teams to attend the workout of Niagara University basketball star Tyrone Lewis on Monday. He was a guard in college and finished third in career scoring and first in career steals at his school. He is 5-foot-10, 172 pounds and he is very fast.

Straight-talking LT irks Chargers brass - Kevin Acee - SignOnSanDiego.com
Because it’s the team that will win a world championship — not a bunch of individuals who happen to be extremely talented and focused on themselves first.

Sorry

Can’t take the blonde girl writing about Phillips seriously. I picture a night out at a club, Phillips meets her, she asks to interview him, he says, “Sure, tomorrow morning after we wake up… together.”

Also, An athlete saying, “I relate to Jay-Z because he talks about Hermes belt buckles” make me cringe at the idea of spending money on the team. I understand that their money is the nature of the business and not all of them will be as humble as some guys …but really?! $600 belt buckles? Way to brag about how my ticket buys you trips to Brazil, $600 belt buckles, and funds your ‘clubber by night’ lifestyle.

Oh internet, what a wicked web you weave.

In his defense

The Chargers do end up with a number of highlights against the Raiders. Especially in the sack category.

No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong about that.

What he said.

Bolts from the Blue // "He looks like a catfish" - Nick Hardwick on Brandon Siler
Bloody Elbow // " looks like your comment violated rule #4. and it’s a heck of a rule, rule #4" - Kid Nate

what he didn't say

highlights don’t win championships. i would rather see Phillips work on increasing his sack total. because if i had to choose between seeing which Sean leave, i wouldn’t mind at this point getting a “compensatory” pick for Phillips.

what they need to

worry about is how the chiefs and broncos are getting better fast and how they are letting go of some really good players. because i’ll tell ya what any body who thinks t he chiefs arn’t getting better fast will be up setnext year with every thing their doing . the next few years are going to be fun in the afc between the chiefs, denver, and us the raiders have a long time before their any good. but buckle up you herd it here first we’re gonna have some good games this year

What exactly are the Chiefs doing that's making them better fast?

I wasn’t aware of anything. Or did they cut Matt Cassel?

Well

They won’t be giving any carries to Larry Johnson next year. That’s a start.

okay

first off they now have the best coaching staff or one of the best. plus thomas jones and they have come really close to fixing the ol so don’t judge matt until we see him for real.now i know you wanna down play what their doing but that won’t beat any team you have to know them. plus depending on this draft which if you do your home work there’s really noone better than scott look what he did for new england. now add that to charles getting better and better. i don’t want to say that their gonna be in the playoffs but this is the afc west . and they are gonna be prolly 9-7 and if they get a good slot wr . how about flowers he’s getting to become a star you have to give credit where credit is due just talking bad about a team don’t mean shit

ok

look i’m with the bolts but…. name another teams staff that has more sb rings or appearances that is still in the nfl because now the chiefs have 4 with weiss and romeo and haley. again just talking bad about a team don’t do anything and they are making that o line strong. and with the redskins pick up num 5 that changes the draft so they could end up with okung, and that would really help them and if they don’t they get berry, or mcclain so what now we bad mouth these kids in the draft. knowing that if we had a chance at either of those we would pick them. again all i’m saying is we had it easy these past few season and now i think between the three. us ,kc,and denver, things cuold start going back to the ol’days where it was anyone’s div which is good maybe if we face some good comp, our coach won’t choke when they face a good team!!!

by tombomb on Apr 8, 2010 7:12 AM PDT up reply actions

Coaching staff

It all depends on who you see as the architect behind those rings. So far, Belichecks disciples haven’t had a lot of success on their own. Weiss Crennel didn’t do much. It remains to be seen whether pioli and McD will have any sort of success. Eventually he has to have some productive offspring but it hasn’t happened yet.

Unless

The coaches intend to chuck those heavy rings at the opposing players junk during the games I can’t really see how having them is going to help.

No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong about that.

I am waiting

to see how TJ performs behind the KC O-line. He was spoiled a bit last year.

I may be old but I... oh d*mn, I forgot what I was going to say.

ok well

let’s see charles started 8 games last year and he ran for like 1000 plus. he had over a hundred yards a game in the last four so that line was getting better last year .now you add jones to that c’mon if you think we have this div sold up your gonna be in ur feelings this season.that’s all i’m saying anyways here’s hopeing we make it this year
