Numbers don't lie about Russell - Bill Williamson - ESPN
With ESPN’s John Clayton reporting that Oakland is preparing to cut quarterback JaMarcus Russell, ESPN Stats & Information came up with several great charts that illustrate that Russell just may be the worst draft pick of all time. Russell was the No. 1 overall pick in 2007.

First run at 2011 mock draft - Todd McShay - ESPN Insider
I am told it's not too early to "mock it up" for the 2011 draft. That's debatable. What's not debatable is the deadline for this project.

Mawae puzzled by no offers - Paul Kuharsky - ESPN
Kevin Mawae is still out of work and the president of the NFL Players Association revisited the idea Wednesday that it's more than his age holding him back.

Ryan Clady Tears Patellar Tendon Playing Basketball - Bill Barnwell - Football Outsiders
In other words, it's impossible to reconcile history with the idea that Clady's going to be back by August. So either one of three things are true here: 1) Clady doesn't have a torn patellar tendon 2) The Broncos and/or Clady are misinforming people about the expected timeframe of his injury 3) Clady is superhuman and will heal at a rate no NFL player ever has.

Mawae

Is as old as dirt and head of the player’s union about to do battle with the owners, and he’s "puzzled’ by no offers. HAHA the players dont stand a chance getting concessions written into the next cba

IMO

If teams are using his position PA head as a reason not to hire him

and it actually leaks to the media as the truth, then I believe that would be more than sufficient basis for a bigtime lawsuit. Seems like blackballing, or whatever you want to call it. Kinda like what the baseball owners did to Barry Bonds. That would be the only similarity, though, since Mawae hasn’t been accused for cheating, lying, ruining the history of the game. etc. in the way that Bonds has.

If he is not getting offers as a result of being the PA head then you can expect players association lawyers to have a field day. It would think it is highly unlikely that teams wouldn’t sign the head of the PA simply because he is just that, but if it is true, the owners lose a ton of leverage in negotiations.

Pretty hard to prove, even if it is true

After all, he’s really old and that’s an alternate, perfectly legitimate reasons why people aren’t bringing him in. Not sure how PA lawyers could ever get their hands on anything that would serve as a sufficient basis for a case.

Please let him go to Kansas City!

A little revenge would be awesome! Having a hard time getting on a roster, eh? Well, (crunch) how about now, sucka?!?

The Broncos actually have some decent depth at OT

Ryan Harris and Tyler Polumbus are not chopped liver. They aren’t pro bowlers either though, but they are definitely better than what they could go out and find.

No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong about that.

Did you see Tyler Polumbus?

He is chopped liver, man. Harris is good, but tackles are like, uh, well, you need two.

Polumbus was a rookie

He looked pretty decent for a rookie.

Polumbus came in at RT when Harris was injured

and struggled, if I remember correctly. I know he’s had an additional season of practice experience since but if I were the Broncos, I would be scared to trust him on the left side against all the best pass rushers.

Harris has been on the right side so far and I guess they could move him to the left side. A move from one side to the other isn’t going to be automatic though.. there’s going to be a period of transition while the guy has to get used to kicking back with the other leg and reworking his footwork. No guarantees of success there either.

If I’m the Broncos, I’m really worried because the best player on the team is looking questionable to start the season.

Like I said,

as a Gators fan, I hate that Broncos of all teams got him. Now I’ll have to see Broncos Tebow jerseys everywhere I go. I just hope people wear it to the first game. That’ll be the one game I hope the Broncos win.

Also, I’m reading two different reports on that Clady guy. One says he got injured working out, now he’s injured from playing basketball?

Pickup basketball

Is what I heard. 50% tear of the left patellar tendon. Not a complete tear, which is good for him and his recovery prospects. But it’s still hard to expect him to be 100% by the start of the season.

Wyche

likes Crompton too, maybe he is a good find. That’s Norv, Wyche and Jaws now…

The Broncos are in for it if Clady is out for the whole season. Their line was a bit squiffy last season as it was.

I hate Mawae, I generally don’t wish unemployment on anyone, but I’ll make an exception here.

Normally, I'm really a pro-labor kind of person, but screw him.

I hope the Chiefs pick him up so we can watch him get his ass kicked in the opener.

Ryan Clady lost a lot of money

He’s one of the best LTs in hte league, in line for a giant payday. He’ll still make money but shit.
