6 UDFA Wide Receivers?!
I guess the word is on the street that we can’t keep both Floyd and V Jax after next year. Buster costs just way too much money for his contribution. One of these guy’s is gonna take Buster’s seat at the table. Who is it gonna be? Does either Floyd or V Jax get traded this year (ala Chambers after camp)?

buster gets $675K in 2010 and $840K in 2011. He is also 4 years younger than Floyd (who will be 29 when the season starts).
I bet they sign VJ long term, keep buster around at his relatively cheap rate, and Floyd eventually moves on, most likely as a UFA after the 2010 year.

These UDFAs are gonna cost about 400K per season
The cost of Davis’s therapy needs to be factored in too. The UDFAs will likely use less adhesive tape than Buster.
I joke about it but in all seriousness, why keep a guy around that has shown over numerous seasons that he is likely to end up physically unable to perform?
And you’ll have to pay him double the price of a younger and healthier UDFA.
I think V Jax is the keeper too. I just think one of them is traded this year to gain some compensation. But all that depends on just how well these UDFA perform.
1 of 6 are solid – Buster walks out the backdoor
2 of 6 are solid – Floyd walks out the frontdoor.

I still have one toe in the “Buster has had some bad luck and just needs a chance” pool. He will get his chance this year with a clear path to at least the #4 WR spot and a weekly spot on the active roster. If I cover my eyes and go to my happy place, I can visualize a scenario where Buster actually earns the #2 WR spot. Its a long shot and the first twinge in his hammy will have me disavowing any support, but I’m holding out hope.

I got out of that pool
and drained it a long time ago. Big deal he played o.k. in a game that didn’t matter against a team that didn’t care last year. They will probably keep him, but I wish that they wouldn’t and I wish that I could be the guy to tell him he is cut.

don’t you remember the Jets game from 2008? He was the best player on the field for about 5 minutes! (and then he got hurt) :-)

No one is getting traded
We only have 4 WRs on the roster, and 3 are in contract years. So one UDFA will make the 53 man roster and 2 or 3 will be on the practice squad.
Plus the extra WR bodies will be nice in camp if Vjack and Floyd try and hold out any significant length of time
IMO
3 WRs on an 8 man practice squad seems a bit much
I agree that at least on UDFA WR will make the team but I think only one (two max) will be on the practice squad.
Two, is my guess.

That means we have room for 2-3 WRs.

Another couple of reasons we may have so many WRs
1. Our KR/PR situation is cloudy for 2011. It might be nice to have an heir apparent to Sproles either on the roster or on the PS.
2. We are replacing both of our gunners on the punt coverage unit and players that were WRs in college tend to be the guys that play that position (like Osgood). CBs and Ss can play that position too, but at CB we have a number of veterans that aren’t exactly speed demons and the young WRs should all be faster than our current crop of safeties.
No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong about that.
