The Chargers made a trade with San Francisco to move up 12 spots in the third round to select Donald Butler, inside linebacker from the University of Washington. Butler was the 79th overall player taken. In exchange, the 49ers receive the Chargers' third-round pick in this year's draft (#91), the team's sixth-round pick in this year's draft (#173) and the team's fourth round pick in 2011.
