LOL

This is not going to turn out well for the Chiefs or Jones. Poor offensive line + older running back = frustrating year for a well respected RB.

I'm the first person to admit that I'm wrong about a lot of things, but I'm going to be the last person to admit I'm wrong about what we're currently talking about.

Me too

A never was and a has been fighting for carries in between Cassel handing it off to safeties.

No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong.

hmmm... I think the Chiefs have a little better RB situation then the chargers...

In just 8 games JC got 968 yrds in just 157 att behind that old offensive line.

TJ should still be able to do a little something too since he got pretty much the same amount of rushing yards last year then all your rbs combined. (1,402 vs 1,423)

KC: JC 1,120 in 190 att
Chargers: LT + Sproles: 1073yrd in 316 att! Seriously??

no one over here is going to tell you we have a strong running game

Or that we will have one next year.

JC seems to be a good back and TJ is a solid vet. TJ is a bit of a workhorse and needs to get his carries in to be effective. How the Chefs balance that with the fact the JC is the more explosive and effective RB will be interesting. Plus, TJ is at the age where an RB’s production seems to fall off a cliff. Whether it happens this year or next is the only question.

Plus, most of us here at BFTB will tell you that even if you had Emmitt, Barry Sanders, and Bo Jackson in your backfield, we are still going to beat you twice next year.

i second this

Gary Potter: Harness in the good energy, block out the bad. Harness. Energy. Block. Bad. It's like a carousel. You put the quarter in, you get on the horse, it goes up and down, and around. Circular, circle. Feel it. Go with the flow.

Wow

Cassel was able to successfully get the ball to his runningback 190 times. That’s astounding. Good for him.

You're right about that running game......

13-3? That’s how the running game worked out for us.

Oh internet, what a wicked web you weave.

Well in anycase...

it feels great to now have one of the RBs that helped knock you out of the playoffs

by davidv on Mar 10, 2010 4:27 PM PST up reply actions

In KC situation,

They can definitely use an older, veteran back to spell JC. With the Chargers releasing LT, the fans would be up in arms…again…if we signed a player older than LT to replace him. That rules out Chester Taylor, or Thomas Jones (although those players are unavailable now anyways). Chargers need to go young. Sproles is going to be 27 when the season starts, so he has what, maybe 3 more years?

Did Thomas Jones help the Jets in that game?

No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong.

Not really

Jones averaged 2.9 YPC. Not much help compared to Greene’s 5.6 YPC in that game.

by SoCalBoltFan on Mar 11, 2010 8:35 AM PST up reply actions

regardless, we still don't have a RB

I was hoping for Thomas Jones, but it didn’t happen. Putting G Johnson on waivers was a big mistake last year. 4th round pick pissed away. Man I wish we still had Micheal " The Burner" Turner here. He is the type that can take the pressure off our defense. Maybe Dwyer or Matthews in the second round could be that guy. There are a lot of holes on this roster all of a sudden. Still think we need a big body NT in the 1st round. None of the FRA’s have signed, we don’t have a starting RB, a backup RB, a NT, a starting corner, etc. Cason might be able to fill in, but I don’t have warm fuzzy feelings about it.

HAHA

Great Stuff Chiefs fans coming here to gloat about their new (old) running back. They actually think it will matter when they play us. The only problem is they forgot the have no D. So the Chargers can just put up a 40 burger in about 3 quarters and then let the scrubs play.
A 1000 RBs cant help a team down by 4 scores.

You do realize

The Chargers in 2009 won more games in one season, than the Chiefs have won in the last 3 seasons combined? (13 vs 10)

Not sure that leaves Chiefs fans any room to talk crap over here.

You do realize

bring up the past means nothing…I could just say the Chiefs are still ahead in the series
50-48-1
outscoring the Chargers: 2155 to 1975

Every team has their up and down years. You guys did indeed make the playoffs and kill us last year each game. That now is irrelevent just like the series. All we can do is play one game at a time. Let’s talk crap during those weeks.

Jamaal Charles...Enough said.

Larry Johnson is still available
