Around SBN: Jerry Sandusky's Wife Tries To Run A Reporter Over

On last week's episode I drafted the first and second round picks for the Chargers. I took Fresno State RB Ryan Matthews in the first and Alabama CB Kareem Jackson. However, that 2nd round was the 60th pick in the draft and we now have the 40th. How do I deal with this? Well, I'm just going to go forward pretending that I drafted a NT with the 40th pick and draft accordingly.

At the time of this post I'm still waiting for my 3rd round pick and I need your help. I really could go any direction with my next picks, so I want your opinions on what position (but not player, I'll decide that) should be drafted in the 3rd and 4th rounds.

Hopefully there are no spies here

For the 3rd round I’m going to be really tempted to draft USC TE Anthony McCoy if he falls that far, so if you don’t like that make a case for a different position. Right now were are at pick 80 (Chargers pick 91st) and here’s my top 10 remaining:

1.Sean Lee, ILB, Penn State
2. Mike Williams, WR, Syracuse
3. Montarrio Hardesty, RB, Tennessee
4. Alex Carrington, DE, Arkansas State
5. Toby Gerhart, RB, Stanford
6. Arthur Jones, DE, Syracuse
7. Jon Asamoah, OG, Illinois
8. Dexter McCluster, RB, Mississippi
9. Larry Asante, S, Nebraska
10. Eric Decker, WR, Minnesota

McCoy isn’t in my top 10 basically because I dropped every play at TE on my list just in case they auto drafted a pick for me and I didn’t want a TE picked in the 1st or 2nd round. He will have a lot of value though at 91 and I don’t see much else I’m in love with.

I still think you're off on that RB opinion

Hardesty and Tate are quality prospects and they are available in the late third in this mock, but they are bigger risks to be starting RBs in 2010. The Chargers shouldn’t really take too many chances at the RB position. They need to get it right.

I think they can afford to miss on NT (not that I want them to)

Their defense wouldn’t really change much even if they had a quality rookie in the rotation (especially if its two down guys like Cody or Thomas), but a quality or above average RB would make the offense unstoppable.

But we would stall out at poor times against the better defenses. If we could eliminate that and move the ball to hold a lead, that would be a huge step towards being a SB champion.

He played 3 years at USC in a similar role as to what he would play in SD so the experience does not bother me.

Abilene Christian OT Tony Washington reportedly had sex with his 15-year-old biological sister when he was 16, and is a registered sex offender.
It’s believed the sexual act, which occurred in May 2003, was consensual. “I made a mistake at the age of 16, and for that, I am deeply sorry,” he said in a statement. “I will not try and excuse or justify anything.” Washington, who might be a first-round prospect based on size, length, and athleticism alone, was a big recruit at LSU in 2005. He originally received five years’ probation and no jail time. Washington is reportedly now on good terms with the sister.

I get the sex with the 15 year old when you’re 16. The sister part is weird. The thing is, you’d technically have to register as a sex offender for either offense. The curious part is, who pressed charges? His own parents? It wouldn’t be the first time that Texas law got me confused though.

But shaky with the run. Could they platoon him with Clary? LOL.

I’m really surprised he lasted this long. These guys had been reaching for OTs in the last mock, I’m surprised he slipped through. My hunch is that many assumed he was picked. Their loss is my gain. Mockingly.

No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong.

Would he start or would he start on the bench?

I’m not biggest fan Clary/Dombrosky so I would start him, but he probably wouldn’t help our pathetic 3.4 ypc. The running game has to be the top priority in preseason, in terms of practice time.

I’m not big on Clary, but I like Dombrowski. Not enough to keep from hedging my bets with a value pick in the 4th round. I don’t foresee Capers beating out either of them for a job in 2010.

I would go for

Sheffield from Troy
Kam Chancellor FS Virginia Tech
Myron Rolle FS Florida St (I like smart guys on my team)

I kind of like Lang more than Sheffield
