Chargers could have 5 1rst round picks and 5 3rd round picks

Kevin Acee reported today that the Chargers are putting the highest tenders on four of their players. Jackson, McNeill, Floyd, and Merriman. 1rst and 3rd round picks would be given in return to the Chargers if a team offers them a contract and Chargers do not match. Now I know the odds of all them getting signed by other teams are slim and none but I thought it was funny that Pro football talk posted that it could happen. What if 2 out of 5 are gone? What if 3 out of 5? Would that mean we are totally rebuilding? Imagine how important this draft would be? What if we lose McNeill and Jackson, who do we draft considering we would have three 1rst and 3rd round picks, would be very interesting. Then do we go after maybe a Dez Bryant in the 1rst or Golden Tate later in the draft? Who would we get in the draft to replace McNiell? Who do you guys think are worth getting rid of for those draft compensations. I'm thinking 1 of our WR's may be gone. Lets say Floyd because of the cost factor for other teams are cheap and he gets better every year, could be a solid #1 receiver for some teams. Or maybe the chargers are willing to let Vincent Jackson or Merriman go because they are expecting to get huge contracts and we may not be willing to put up the money. All the four guys are all good players to put those tenders on because the money due this year is not that high and the chargers would only have to pay them 110% of what they are expected to make for 1 year which is not very high, another reason why some teams would be attracted to these guys because they will have them relatively cheap for a year. I'm sure Vincent Jackson wants Greg Jennings or Roddy White type money when the time comes and I fear chargers wont pay, then we get no picks for him. Same case for Merriman because of their high profile names and because they have proven their potential. What scenarios would you guys think is acceptable for you. Which rookies would be good replacement? I would love to see some of your scenarios or your opinions!

This is a pretty funny idea. I don’t see any of them getting picked up other then jackson and maybe mcniel but giving up a 1st and a 3rd is a big deal. Especially since draft picks are much cheaper then full contracts. I wonder if one of the teams at the top of the draft who don’t want to dish big money would pick up the tender just so they don’t have to pay. does anyone know a 1st and 3rd round tender ever getting picked up by another team?
