San Diego police said Tuesday that Chargers wide receiver Legedu Naanee is not a suspect in a Pacific Beach street brawl that left a 21-year-old man injured.

"He was absolutely not involved in the altercation," San Diego police Capt. Chris Ball said.

A man who witnessed the fight that took place about 2 a.m. Monday outside the Bar West nightclub on Hornblend Street told investigators that Naanee had nothing to do with it, Ball said.

Ball said the witness, who was at the bar as a designated driver, was "absolutely credible," and that he was familiar with the NFL player.
