#reelinacertaintypeofway: Chargers vs Chiefs
I think this first clip of Mike Tolbert shows almost nine defenders having a chance to tackle him before going down, and just about sums up this game.
More after the jump!
Which brings us to a very big hit by Steve Gregory on Javier Arenas during a punt return.
You knew we're going to have to discuss the semi-controversial Floyd Touchdown. It looks like it makes a big jolt at one point, it could be contact with the ground, or possibly his offhand cradling it. I definitely don't think it could have been reversed by video no matter what the call on the field was. It's not beyond a doubt, which is why it was upheld.
Next we have a great play by Cason going toe-to-toe with Dwayne Bowe down the sideline. I'm surprised that he was left alone without safety help so late in the game with a big lead, but maybe they were still choking up on the run big time even at that point. Cason makes a huge recovery from the shove by Bowe to deflect the ball at the last second.
This next clip is a bit of a hidden play in a big time head's up fumble recovery from Jacob Hester. This was early in the game, before the feeling of inevitability set in.
Here we have a very tough TD run by young Mr. Mathews. You've probably seen it a bunch already, but I included this great display of balance just so I could point out that World of Warcraft has just released a big new expansion, and Clydez hasn't gained any levels; this might mean Mathews is focusing on football.
Last, to keep the mood light in a very short week before the niners, we have The Mike Tolbert Stanky Leg Dougie!
One last last thing... help me name the Video Dump!! I got nuthin...

I have a feeling he would do it
Even it he scored a receiving TD.
But seriously, this would be the time to drop your point.
KC stuck with the run in the 3rd quarter and we saw how well that worked.

once more
they didn’t have a qb the caliber of Rivers. DUH… why is it that proffesional anouncers agree with me.. but you are still like no we did the right thing we had no balance and got are asses handed to us… in every game that we have lost we had no balance… being down 18 with 30 mintues to go never ever means you have to turn one demensional.. but a 30-70 run to pass ratio is right we had a 2-98 pass to ratio going in that game.
Well, I'll put it this way
We put up 10 points with a pass heavy offense and 3 points with a “balanced” offense.
We actually had our asses handed to us less with a spread/pass heavy offense than we did with a run balanced offense. Imagine that.

Great stuff
Anybody see a clip of the play where Garay takes the Wiegman, the KC center by the shoulders, throws him aside and then takes down the RB for a loss. That was like bacon on Christmas.

Someone's going to start yelling soon
I caught hell for referring to that dance as the Stanky Leg on Twitter during the game. Truth is, someone taught Tolbert how to Dougie.

Wording note
Does it bother anyone else like it does me that the stat is named “passes defensed” – what’s the explanation for that? It’s bothered me for years, and I can’t for the life of me figure out why it isn’t “defended.” So thanks for titling it the way I prefer.

Well, you're not defending the pass, you're defensing it. Duh.

To defend something is to protect "it"
You are not defending the reciever’s catching of the pass (allowing him to catch the ball). You are mustering a defence and stopping him from catching the pass.

I just have a gut rejection of "defense" as a verb
to defend is the action of defense. I put up a defense = I defended.

It's definitely grammatically correct
It just sounds weird.
