I love me some Manning face.

My name is Guybrush Threepwood, and I'm a mighty pirate.

More?

The National League West title was all but a lock,
Then they lost 10 in a row, ‘twas like a punch in the jock!

Collinsworth

kept calling Manning out on his flinching as the rush came toward him

Has Norv been fired yet?

Was it when Bill Polian looked like he had a crap sitting in his drawers

and Norv Turner gazed at the scoreboard with fire in his eyes and a cape blowing in the gusts of wind from Eli’s older brother’s temper tantrums and uncontrollable hand flailing???

The best was when they did the zoom in on his face, when he was flinching

I mean that was completely messed up by NBC, but hilarious for the rest of us.

In his defense, Manning had a lot of reasons to be sour

Dropped balls, no-calls on pass interference and horrible blocking by his OL at times. Still 4 picks in a game is always on the QB, at least in part. He’s OVERRATED.

I disagree. He doesn't play like this against anyone else.
He’s OVERRATED.

He lost the game last week with a pick. He wasn't stellar in the 09 Superbowl.

Don’t get me wrong, he’s a great QB. I just question his performance in big games. Look at what Brady’s done in the playoffs vs. Manning, for example.

Manning needs another approach...

Instead of these admittedly “they took my favorite toy!” expressions, Peyton needs to channel his inner jerk and treat his players like he treated the kids in that United Way skit.

Manning Face? Now I ask you

what’s he supposed to look like? He’s getting hurried every play, he has no running game, half his playbook is gone, his receivers are unreliable, and he’s losing big. If he had the emotional PR17 face, he’d get roasted for that. If he had the bewildered Eli face, he’d get roasted for that. If he had the cavalier, unconcerned “haha, that’s on me” Brett face, he’d get roasted for that. The fact is, the dude was losing to a team he always loses to (which is doubly humiliating, because privately few actually respect the Chargers, despite what they say publicly), he had no answers no matter what he did, and he was frustrated.

Okay, I get that everyone thinks Manning’s a tool because of how he treated Acee on the conference call. Personally, I think being snippy was understandable; does anyone really think Acee was looking for straight answers to those questions? I think he was looking for reaction, and he got it. I have a lot of respect for Manning myself (more so than for Brady, but that’s just me). That’s why I’m amazed every time the Chargers do this to him; no other team does, and there are other good defenses in the NFL. Rivera knows what makes Manning tick, and he attacks exactly the right way to get him totally flustered. I don’t blame Manning for having sour faces. Our own PR17 has made plenty of his own when things go bad, and I don’t blame him either.

Rivers isn't scared to take a hit.

He doesn’t flinch. His “Laserface” actually makes pass rushers and blitzers think twice about hitting him because he speaks softly in their ear while he’s going down, inflicting emotional pain twice that of the physical.
