Makes me sad to see Siler on the doubtful list...
but what is the criteria again? If he doesn’t practice twice he last to be listed as Questionable? Is this a case where he is really injured or he just didn’t practice all week so he has to be listed as “doubtful” ?
Why wouldn’t he practice all week if he wasn’t really injured?

nice and long
its good to see the raiders injury report have as many names as a high school graduation.
Just counted
More than twice as many as the Chargers.

Correction
As many names as an Oakland graduation
6/10/2010 - Tra Thomas signs with the Chargers
8/21/2010 - Tra Thomas retires.
That was fast.
Injuries
WAY too many sux for everybody not just the players :|
Merriman is done in SD
Come on man. Really?? What a surprise. He holds out…realizes he will not win a battle of wills or a staring contest against AJ….so he signs his $3 million tender…..then he plays a few downs and gets a hamstring strain….a few more plays and a whole 4 tackles for the season…then he strains a calf? What do you take us for Shawne? You are milking the Chargers and the fans who are paying good money to support professionals like you. You should be ashamed of yourself man. Real college educated people are busting their butts to find work in this market and you skate through a season collecting $3 million. Sorry you actually have 4 tackles for an average of $187,500 per tackle…..the only game you are able to master anymore….. seems to be the head games you’re playing with the Chargers, the few ignorant fans who think you are still a professional slacker….er i meant football player and the rest of us who care about this team.. Maybe your pride and ego will kick in,,…,and you may come to realize that your future value (to another team) will come in how you play the rest of the year. Come on man. Really??
Man, he missed two games.
It’s way too soon to make statements like that. But yeah, he has to come back and be a beast.

2 games = 50% of the season so far
6/10/2010 - Tra Thomas signs with the Chargers
8/21/2010 - Tra Thomas retires.
That was fast.
Which is a good argument for not making any judgments based on this season so soon.

He did the same thing with his knee

He knew he had the injury all off season. He waited until after that first game to get it it fixed. Why? He gets credit for a year of service. He makes the team, keeping the prorated portion of his signing bonus. Plus he probably made more money by playing that one game, than he would have by getting the knee fixed 6 months earlier perhaps missing the next season. He’s milked it before… Why not now too?
Is that leadership?

I think that is a bit of a stretch.
The dude loves playing football. I honestly believe he thought he could preform at a high level with the injury. He saw that he couldn’t, and had the surgery.

Love of the game is very intangible
Sure he says it, heck he probably did love it while he could play… juiced. Brian Bozworth did.
But but not getting the knee surgery during the off season and postponing it until after one game I think SM received a good deal of objective benefit. What is the saying? “Money talks and BS walks.” Love of the game is just a better smelling variety of BS.
