Jyles Tucker Out for Season with Pectoral Tear

via Kevin Acee:

The bad news continues. Jyles Tucker to IR with pectoral tear -- ka

Jyles Tucker finally has a good game, looks like he might start to earn some of that money that he got from the San Diego Chargers, and then this.

Does anyone have Marques Harris' phone number?

Merriman Back?

I thought those calf things were usually 3-4 weeks at least.

At the beginning of last week they thought he might play against the Cardinals. That’s what I’m basing it off of.

He's a former DE and a OLB for sure

The undrafted gem of 2010. Stay tuned

He looked really stiff, unsure and took bad angles when he got playing time before

I like him too, but I think there might be a long way to go there. On the brightside, with all these injuries I sure he’ll get plenty of attention from coaches on how to fix these things.

No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong about that.

B. Lang

I think he’s going to be good…

I think

he has just been buried on a deep roster. He has really only flashed in one preseason games and a few practices. For a guy that big he really moves, I saw him cover Mathews in practice and hang right with him. For someone who played DE in college, that’s pretty amazing. The Chargers always bring rookies along slowly when they can. With two OLBs down they will have to play him more now. He is going to have a learning curve, but to me he looks to have the athletic tools to be great.

he didn’t do anything. But it was his first NFL game (I believe)

Fair enough

but I think he only took like five or so snaps. I’m not saying he is going to be great right away, and in fact I expect him to struggle some early on.

I think he's more for presence

and to spell the other guys a few plays. He had 7 total plays. Couldn’t get pressure though. Maybe in time, but assuming both English and Merriman are back to 100% by the bye week, he’ll be inactive.

I would think

He sees a lot more snaps this Sunday, and with Tucker out altogether I would think he could be active even after English and Merriman are back.

Bummer.

I hate to say it, but I think he’s the least of our OLBs. Still, it sucks to see all those injuries. Keeping 29 defenders on the initial 53 looks prophetic right now.

I know huh

Keeping the extra defenders is looking genius at this point

Even less ST depth

These mounting injuries and suspensions will result in more starters playing special teams, which only increases the probability of future injury. Ugh.

Well, here’s to Merriman and English getting well soon.

Thank goodness we have Oak and StL next, although neither will be as easy as AZ.

Looks like Chargers will sign OLB Nate Triplett. He was Vikings fifth-round pick this year but didn’t survive final cut — ka

Hmm, talking to myself
Chargers also sign OLB from a practice squad. Cyril Obiozor from Cardinals PS to replace Tucker. And Dante Hughes is back … again! — ka

Paging Marques Harris, paging Mr. Harris. We will be looking at some UFL players pretty soon if this keeps up.
