Philip Rivers Wins AFC Offensive Player of the Month
Quarterback PHILIP RIVERS of the San Diego Chargers, cornerback DARRELLE REVIS of the New York Jets and kick returner-wide receiver JOSHUA CRIBBS of the Cleveland Browns are the AFC Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Month for December/January, the NFL announced today.
OFFENSE: QB PHILIP RIVERS, SAN DIEGO CHARGERS
- Rivers completed 93 of 137 passes (67.9 percent) for 1,316 passing yards with nine touchdowns versus three interceptions and a 111.5 passer rating as San Diego posted a 5-0 record.
- He helped the Chargers continue their December success, as the club has won an NFL-record 18 consecutive games in December (2006-present). That ties the 1970-74 Miami Dolphins (18 in November) for the most consecutive games won in a calendar month since 1970.
- His 111.5 passer rating was an NFL-best during the month and his nine touchdown passes tied for second-best in the league.
- He helped the Chargers win their fourth straight AFC West title and secure a No.2 seed in the AFC playoffs.
- In 2009, Rivers became the first Charger to record a 100+ passer rating in consecutive seasons (105.5 in 2008; 104.4 in 2009).
- In his sixth season from North Carolina State, this is Rivers’ second career Player of the Month Award. He previously won the award in December of 2008.

Who would rather have Eli Manning than Rivers? Hell no.

Things could be much worse, I could be a fuskies & Broncos fan.
Maybe if they were playing schnoz-ball

Player of the Month
Second straight December, he really is the best!
Before he’s done he’ll be regarded as the best Charger QB ever and possibly one of the best NFL QBs ever.
Rivers is great
But he plays in pass friendly times.

I just want him to get LT a ring.
If that happens, I don’t care what happens for the next several years. Hell, I’ll even watch Padre games more often.

That
would be the best.

Dear Chargers fans,
I am a die hard dolphins fan, and as pained as i am to have the postseason come with Miami playing golf, i am officially on the Chargers bandwagon for the single reason of Darren Sproles, my absolute farovite player in the NFL, wish yall the best of luck from Miami
Cheers
Wish the best of luck to Miami next season. I’m sure if you guys had Ronnie Brown the entire season, you would’ve pulled out another playoff season.

Miami is one receiver away from being really, really good. If they land Brandon Marshall, look out.

Marshall is going to the Skins

who's going to throw to them?
Campbell?? I think he needs a better QB there, and I just can’t think of one off the top of my head.
thank you sir...
and we wish you luck next year…however, i did just win $50 off my mother-in-law, who is a dolphins fan, on a pre-season bet for who’s team would make it further in the post-season…one of the best parts about that is i get to say “where’s my 50 bucks, mother $#%@#r?!?” lol

marshall would be amazing
but Mike Shanahan plus Dan Snyder’s money puts him in Washington in an uncapped free agency, and you know Bill Parcels wont draft a Receiver til like the 23rd round anyway lol
LOL
Marshall and amazing in the same sentence. Ridiculous.
I'm the first person to admit that I'm wrong about a lot of things, but I'm going to be the last person to admit I'm wrong about what we're currently talking about.
taking into account
that the best “number one” receiver in miami is Teddy Ginn and despite having all the speed in the world he should have playd corner because he cant catch the F***ing ball and hates contact
Oh c'mon
You gotta keep the Michigan alum throwing to the two Ohio State alums. That travesty is just too funny to end so soon.

maybe thats why
Ginn refuses to catch the ball lol… gotta be impressed with Davone Bess though he has a highlight reel catch almost every week… seems to be about time to ship him and ronnie brown to the Pats like we always do with good players (see wes welker)
I hoped Greg Camarillo was gonna stick in San Diego
but we let a good one get away. Wasn’t he the one who torched Ed Reed’s ass for the touchdown that won Miami’s one game a few years ago?

Ricky will be 33
And Brown seems to get injured every year. Sproles will likely be available to the highest bidder this year.
And I believe Ricky is a FA.
I'm the first person to admit that I'm wrong about a lot of things, but I'm going to be the last person to admit I'm wrong about what we're currently talking about.
Ricky has one year left under contract with the Phins
after which he has announced he plans to retire
back to the deal...
this is just mostly a snub. the is a consilation prize for not getting MVP or pro bowler. fine. peyton can have the probowl nod, because he’s going to be available to play in it. PR will be in the Superbowl while both mannings will be watching PR get his frist ring. they can even ask brady and farve to pass the popcorn. because ohno will need shoulders to cry on.
peace out
The peanut gallery has spoken!!!
