BFTB Podcast Update

Okay.....there have been some speedbumps along the way but it appears we're finally ready to get to BFTB's first ever podcast. It will be broadcast live at 6:30pm EST (that's 3:30pm Pacific) on Monday, January 4th.
I had originally wanted to do it in between the Chargers/Redskins game but before the Bengals/Jets game. However, BlogTalk Radio (who will be hosting the show) only allows for a certain amount of shows per "timeslot" and that timeslot was all taken up. In the future (as in, after the playoffs are over) the podcast will have a set day and time, and that probably won't be at 3:30pm California time on Monday. For right now though, since all the good slots are booked up for weeks, we're going to play it by ear.
You can join Sam and myself here, and I believe that little widget on the right side of the home page will be able to play the episode once it's started as well (not positive). I recommend coming to the episode's page though, because in addition to taking live callers (the call-in number is on the episode page, but I'll make sure to repeat it during the show) we'll have a live chat room and will be answering questions asked in there as well.
The schedule going forward, in terms of who will be joining me on the podcast, is as follows:
- Week 17 - Sam
- Wild Card Round - Zach
- Divisional Round - Richard Wade
- Championship Round - Jeff
- Pro Bowl Week - ? (Probably Sam again since he'll be the only one without a playoff week)
- Postseason/Super Bowl - Andy
After that I'll decide if I want to keep it a rotation or if I want to try to convince one person to be my full-time on-air partner. Also, while we're on the topic I'll also be doing a podcast with the 619sports guys sometime next week, so keep an eye out for that.
Do you guys have any input/ideas on what to include in the podcast? Things you've heard other guys do that you think is fun or a good idea? Let me know in the comments.

I’m tied up with class until about 4:30 and won’t be home until 5. What’s the planned duration? I’ll probably end up having to catch the replay.

and, I know. This would be a little easier if I weren’t on East Coast scheduling (and specifically one that starts at 4:30am every day). I’m working on finding a timeslot that’s after 5pm on the west coast, but before 10pm on the east coast.

okay i have cereal palsy arhrtis and chronic fatiue as well i have a grea life loveing folks some days are better that other days i got a make a wish in 2001 saw my favorive team the broncos was the trip of the lifetime i wish everyone couild gotten to enjoy that with me i know some of u hate the broncos and that ok but i bleed organ and bule reseident broncos fan for ap lol

There’s a player for it on the right side of the home page, right above the FanShots. If it works properly, it should play the most recent BFTB podcast once we actually do one. It’ll be on live on Monday, at 5:30pm Central. After that you can listen to the recorded show any time you want.
Don’t be coy with your “I might want to listen” crap, j-man. You’re an official BFTB contributor now, you better listen. There’s bound to be at least some good Chargers information.

Suggestion for content
I always enjoy John’s fanposts on the upcoming opponent, with some discussion on the individual match-ups. Prior to the wild-card weekend, it would be interesting to discuss how the Chargers match-up against possible/likely divisional round opponents (using both observations and stats like DVOA as a framework), and to perhaps come to a “consensus” as to who we prefer the Chargers play that week. True, all of the analysis is just fun and games, but at least for me, it will make the wild card weekend (sans-Chargers) a little more interesting.
Btw, I think it is great that BFTB will organize these podcasts. Good luck guys. I hope the format turns out to be successful.
