According to ProFootballTalk, Travis Johnson will now move over to DT and split time there with Nwagbuo. I guess Vaughn Martin didn’t impress.

Booooo.
V.M. is just not ready. But Boone? Really? Boone?
Gonna be a long season. Well, except in terms of time-of-possession.

What the F*ck!?
This is who we sign to try to solve the problem? Where the hell is Ian Scott and why is he not back with the team right now!?

Maybe he buried his sorrows upon being cut with a bucket of twinkies...

Maybe he sucks?
He’s another guy that never played in the 3-4 before. I really don’t see much of a difference between him and Boone.

Maybe your both right
I just thought that with the time he spent in our defense and what I believed to be solid play in the preseason he would be the guy to call. I hope one of the young guys steps up and wows us. I have a lot more faith in them then a 33 year old that was cut by the Chiefs or a first-round bust that the Texans were willing to part with for a 5th round pick.

Scott didn’t strike me as anything special in the preseason. He looked mediocre playing against second-stringers.

Blame the Panthers
They took all the free agents DTs already. They’ve lost 3 so far I think.

i read they wanted to sign boone.
but that he chose the chargers because he is familiar with ron rivera
by cameronm on Sep 22, 2009 1:06 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Boone played for 6 years with the Bears including the NFC Championship season. He start 4 games for that championship team under Rivera and his career high was 6 starts in 2003 (was Rivera there then?). Of course, Ian Scott was also on some of those teams and started way more games. I have to assume that something about Scott the last couple of years turned the team off (probably the same thing that got him cut from the Bears).
Boone is a little taller and a little thicker than Scott. Seems like a better fit for the 3-4. Scott always struck me as a fit for the 4-3 with a “get up the field mentality” (like the Colts, Bears, Titans, Bucs, etc). He was a round peg in a square hole on the Chargers.

I like tall guys in the 3-4 as DEs. Richard Seymour is a good example. It helps get leverage and they’re not out of the play even if they’re double-teamed because they can slip their arm through the linemen and grab somebody.

Andre Coleman cut
probably on his way back to the practice squad. Had to do it to make room for Boone, although I’m curious who took Jamal’s spot on the roster when he was IR’d.

Good motivation?
You know you’re like this close to making it. Just got to improve a bit more.

He's a backup guard whose name doesn't end in "ski"
Which means he sucks.

I'm actually veryimpressed with the jobs the "Ski's" have done
Considering the totality of the circumstances.

quick question
jamal williams was a team captain. Do we vote on a new team captain now? Does merriman now get his due? Any info would be great.
Bring back Balboa Stadium.

I believe the team captains cannot be changed. The defense still has Cooper as a captain.

Jeez,
A healthy season goes up in flames (the health, obviously not the season). Who knows, maybe it will build charachter, or something.
The curse! I cannot live knowing i have the power to knowingly dictate somebody's fate. I am in the process of changing my screenname. Therefore, yes, that is Jahvid Best as my profile image (as motivated by marinecorpsduck). We should all collectively hope like hell that putting his picture up there will have the same effect. We will find out on Saturday!

Yeah just like last season?
Right? Guys? Guys….?
(Are you now CaDuck AKA Masoli#8 AKA Blount#9??)

Yes,
my inconsistency with names is FINAL. The boys over at ATQ successfully convinced me that my names I used were cursed (jokingly of course, yet strikingly accurate). Due to the Blount “incident”, and Masoli’s inconsistency and poor reads for the first three games of the season. And, yes, that is why Jahvid Best is the picture you see next to my name. Hopefully he will be cursed when he travels to Eugene this Saturday. I cannot emphasize enough that I will NEVER AGAIN switch usernames! NEVER AGAIN!!

Glad to hear it
I thought it was going to be silly once Masoli wasn’t on the team anymore anyways.
