Donkeys ban Marshall from rest of preseason.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

I'm taking bets
I don’t think McDaniels makes it to the end of the season.
There’s something to be said for being a tough coach, but have you EVER seen a player treat Belichick with such disrespect? Even Ty Law speaks nothing but good things about the Patriots organization after leaving on bad terms.

I think he'll get at least one season.
When did he dis-respect Belichick?
Greg Maddux for manager.

He was saying
Have you ever seen a player treat Belicheck with as much disrespect as Marshall is treating McDaniels with?

Name your bet
I’m up for a friendly wager that McD is the coach next year.
I’ll also take odds on these:
- The Broncos lose 8 or less games this season
- Denver finishes 2nd in the division or higher

8 or less losses?
Second in the division I can see…look at the division. But 8 or less losses? Good luck w/ that coastalbronco. Here are the losses I see the Broncos taking this year, now that orton is behind the gun and your best WR wants off the team:
Dallas
New England
San Diego (x2)
Baltimore
Pittsburgh
Washington
Giants
Indy
Philly
That puts you guys at 6-10. Probably still second in the division though. The good news? Eddie Royal turned into a great fantasy sleeper pick. :)

Man I can't bleive how messed up the Broncos & Raiders have gotten
The drama! The Bronco Running Back situation was horrific last season, then they kick out the pro-bowl QB and Wide Receiver! How bad is this going to get?

One thing going unmentioned
Mike Shanahan is making about $7 million this season to sit at home. The same thing for the next two seasons. He must be really enjoying this.
I wonder if, since they’re already paying him, they could convince Mike to come back?

I think it includes the first 4 regular season games too
And that is assuming the guy cracks open the play book during his time off. It could be more time.
by Trendsearcher on Aug 29, 2009 11:16 PM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Nope
Technically, they’re only allowed to suspend him for 4 regular season games.

I think they're trying to leave room for escalation
In case he doesn’t get the message… preseason is a slap on the wrist, if he doesn’t get his act together he starts losing game checks.
… it sure isn’t the best way for him to encourage trade offers.

I think it's a good effort (so far)
To do something to correct this guy’s attitude. He’s been nothing but trouble his whole. The man needs to learn that there are consequences for his actions because he has never had to deal with any consequences in the past. If the Broncos simply traded him, another team would just enable him to continue being the horrible human being that he is. I think this is a case where the Broncos are finally taking responsibility for turning this man’s life around. I’m not going to say that the approach is the recommended one, but I think it has noble intentions.

not that it happened
I should’ve said “trade idea”

I'd take volek over eli
What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this blog is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on our souls.

and SF would probably take Marshall over Crabtree. That’s why it’s a good trade idea.

not sure McDaniels would take either
Neither of these guys fit the McD mold.

He hasn't coached a game yet
He’s not allowed to have a mold.

right...
The off-season has made it obvious, sometimes painfully so, that he has a type of player he prefers.
by CoastalBronco on Sep 1, 2009 7:55 AM PDT up reply actions 0 recs
Has it?
He hasn’t avoided any type of player, in fact he signed too many similar players in my opinion. Unless you’re saying that his type of player is the kind that is willing to take his crap without wanting out.

that's one requirement
the same way AJ likes his head coaches — neither is big on malcontents.
Other general qualities of McD’s pick-ups and draft picks include leadership and versatility. Here’s a great post from BroncoBear on the topic: http://www.milehighreport.com/2009/8/25/998682/the-value-of-leadership
