Young Pats Fan...LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Look i don't think I have ever seen something so funny as i did last night at the Q.It was kind of sad, but REALLY funny.Sorry to say,but that happens.A teenage Pats fan was being booed from section to section as he was hanging with his Charger Fan buddy. He had a tough time finding a place to sit, as he left every section people started to throw hot dogs and nachos at him.He got brave and picked one up and threw it at a girl then he just got targeted even more.It was hilarious,i know i shouldn't encourage other people to do this, but the next time i hope the hot dogs have extra mustard...lol...My bad.I just can't stop laughing about it.Little dude i hope you don't take it personal, just don't where your Pats jersey to the stadium next time you go.
What do you guys think, were the guys at the stadium out of line?Or was it good ol' foot ball behavior?Either way i think it was f'n hilarious.Like i said sorry lil man...lol...ish happens!!!

That sucks
and isn’t funny. Sorry Gorditoe. I grew up in Nebraska where Husker fans would cheer the other team after a loss and tell visiting fans we’d see them in two years, etc. Maybe it’s the Midwesterner in me, but that’s the way fans should act. I want to be able to see my teams home or away without fear of injury.

The Husker Myth
This notion that Nebraska has such polite and well behaved fans is a joke. As a Colorado alum who has attended the rivalry at Nebraska, I can with 100% confidence say never once were the Buffs cheered as they walked off the field. I was spit on, yelled at, and threatened throughout the game and weekend. Look I don’t care about this and know from experience that it happens everywhere, but I’m tired of all you Husker fans acting like you’re just a class above the rest. YOU ARE NOT MY FRIEND!!

OK then
In terms of worst, most vile fan sets that I’ve personally been in a stadium with I’d put Miami #1, followed by Colorado at a rather distant #2. I absolutely apologize on behalf of the Husker fans that did that to you, not that it’s worth anything. I will also say that Nebraska fans aren’t the ones creating or perpetuating the “myth” – it’s something that’s been said by myriad visiting sportswriters, etc. The idea that Nebraska fans are among the best/most knowledgeable/friendliest in college football is regarded as nearly-accepted fact. Or at least that was the case as of about 7 years ago – the last time I’ve been to a Husker game.
Maybe all the stories of how good they are as fans have gone to their heads. Not entirely unlike the Chargers and the super bowl-bound/most talented rosters stories.
Sorry again about your treatment, un-friend.

Buffs fans aren’t that bad, despite the undeniable couple of idiots….all in the fun of the rivalry!!!

no way
I was there, I thought it was hilarious. It’s one thing if it was a regular season game, but this was CHARGERS training camp. How do you think the players felt seeing that there? This is the CHARGERS time to get pumped up and see the support of the fans. I think that pats fan deserved it.

I'm fine with the booing
It’s just noise and at low decibels it can’t hurt you.
I’m only in favor of throwing anything directed at another human being when they are a willing participant or its a matter of life or death. Wearing a Patriots jersey doesn’t fit either factor.
Sometimes people should try to act like civilized human beings instead of animals. This goes double for football fans.

Yes

Agree
I was there, and I thought the booing was fine, but the throwing of food and bottles was ridiculous. I must say though, that the Patriots fan was asking for it by waving his hands in the air and making his presence know, but trying to harm someone like that isn’t right.

hey
anyone else see the dude in the broncos jersey walking with 2 cops? I would have to if I were him.

Kinda brought it on himself
As long as he wasn’t hurt them im ok with this. Its not morally wrong because patriot fans have no souls.

This is embarassing, guys.
This is the behavior that’s expected of Eagles or Giants or Raiders fans. Wearing another team’s jersey should incite nothing more than some good-natured ribbing. Once the first item is thrown, a boundary has been crossed. Should he have thrown a hot dog back? Clearly not, but I can’t imagine what might be going through his head when there’s an entire angry mob focusing all of its violent energy on him.
Gorditoe also reported that he was with a Chargers-fan friend. There’s no excuse for the behavior anyway, but that fact should have bought him even a little more respect. I’m going to draw another overblown comparison here, but saying he “had it coming” because he was wearing a pats jersey is like a light version of saying a girl “was asking for it” when she is assaulted/raped after wearing a short skirt.
More than a third of us think this was cool and funny? We have to do better, people.

Glass half full: two thirds have a good take. It was tied when I voted.

Personally
I didn’t even vote for a while because I didn’t want to take part in this, good side or bad side. I’m hopeful other people feel the same way.
I’m so close to just deleting this post, but right now it seems to be holding steady with decent comments.

When you where your team's colors
into the opposition’s stadium you deserve to get booed and you deserve to get razzed but it should be good natured. You don’t deserve to get crap thrown at you and you shouldn’t feel like you’re going to have to fight your way out of the place.
I say this as a Charger fan who HATES the Pats more than just about anyone. I’ve also had some interesting experiences in Foxborough, the kind that might make someone condone this sort of behavior. But seriously, it was Chargers Training Camp—what was the kind thinking?

I can get riled up just as much as the next guy during a game
and I understand the jeering, but throwing things or any other "pack animal " behavior like this shows just how unintelligent human beings can be.
I can think of a lot of things that are a lot funnier than throwing hot dogs at some kid wearing a Patriot’s jersey, which I don’t find funny at all.
There is a bar in Portland, Oregon where Chargers fans congregate and about a third of the fans are total idiots, so yeah the numbers bear out.

It was pretty funny
wuts up everybody new member here. love the blog im a big charger fan and this is my favorite site for news, etc. I was at the practice too and where he was first sitting by where I was he wasn’t getting boo’d at all. Maybe he didn’t deserve to get pegged with food, but he was instigating towards the charger fans and trying to be acknowledged as a pats fan. I say don’t go to a charger practice flaunting that jersey. I remember the first practice there was a raider fan and all I could here was “RAIDERS SUCK, RAIDERS SUCK” haha good times.

In a game ....
It’s totally different Chargers fans I hear are ok except for Raider games that usually ends with blood… But at a practice… Just imagine what Raider fans would had done to a Chargers Fan if he/she went to their practice wearing a chargers jersey!!! But it was funny…..

Have to chime in
For some reason, there are ALWAYS visiting fans sitting around us at our seats. I guess those are the seats sold on ebay or something. MOST, not all but most, of the opposing teams fans are respectable to the home team and their fans. I enjoy talking to them about their team, etc and all, as well as giving each other crap when we score on each other. There is, maybe one game/year that you get that idiot who likes to hear himself talk and taunt the home fans. In this case, I believe that if you act like a child and attract attention to yourself, you better be prepared to pay some sort of consequence (heckling, etc). Physical threats and throwing stuff is not ok, no matter if it is a Pat fan. That’s the kind of stuff that gives us Charger fans a bad name (like we need more bad fan press).

My take?
It should all be good-natured ribbing. That’s what we all should strive to achieve.
I must admit, though – if an opposing fan escalates something, I’m not going to just turn the other cheek. Especially not in my house.
