Roethlisberger denies civil allegations of sexual assault | ProFootballTalk.com
In a complaint that reads like the rape allegations made several years ago against NBA star Kobe Bryant, Harrah's employee Andrea McNulty alleges sexual assault against Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in a lawsuit filed last week in Washoe County, Nevada.

Unlike the Kobe thing
There has been no criminal investigation or charges

I know
it’s all civil suits. This chick wants money. Then again, if I’m correct, this sometimes happens in cases where the girl is claiming a rape happened later on but never went to the hospital to get a rape kit done. Harder to prove, but it’s not entirely impossible that Big Ben will settle.

For what it's worth
I posted this for two reasons:
1) It’s a big story. A big story that could get bigger. If it turns out to be true, it would be catastrophic.
2) I don’t want to get in the middle of anything, but I have a friend-of-a-friend who went to college with Big Ben and had a story similar to this one. I heard that story about 4 years ago though. Her story had a bit of a different ending, with her friend walking in and everything stopping before it got out of hand. She also made it clear how intoxicated Ben was at the time (quite).
I’m not saying the story is true, I’m just saying that if it was it wouldn’t completely surprise me.

I like Jim Rome's take
He was basically saying that we don’t know this woman anymore than we know Ben Roethlisberger. The Steve McNair thing should show us that we don’t really know any of these athletes (and that’s coming from a guy who has met both individuals, as opposed to any of us). Could this woman be lying? Of course. Could Big Ben or any other athletes who have a sense of entitlement commit such an act? Sure they could. Could a hotel/casino combined with a superstar athlete cover something like this up? It’s certainly possible. He’s basically saying we know nothing. And saying accusatory for either side is really a wrong way to go about.

Rack him
That’s why I posted the comment above. I didn’t accuse Ben of anything, but I did feel it needed to be posted because it’s a huge story (that wasn’t really being widely reported when this went up) and I’ve heard a story of a similar action from him when he was in college.
