Project as SS or FS?
I want to thank the good Lord for making me a Philip Rivers fan.

No such thing as a 230lb FS

A big SS
we really haven’t had one of those around here in a while. I wonder if its a change in philiosophy? It is the first year with Rivera giving input.

completely agree. we need a player, a safety, who will make teams FEAR going across the middle. as of now, all that happens is the opposing team gets a catch and the receiver may receive a slight bump. guaranteed, that won’t happen with Ellison. a key stat last year from USC on D: no big gains through the air completed(passes of 30+ yards). i think its safe to say that taylor mays didn’t do it by himself.
Definitely a sleeper pick
I’m not sure if he has the chops to play safety in the NFL, but if he can prove that he can overcome his size and 40 time (which was injury affected) then he could be real good. I also think he could make an impact on special teams even if he doesn’t become a starting safety or linebacker.
Memo to baseball managers: You manufacture runs by NOT making outs, not by making them on purpose.
good point
should be an animal on special teams even if he never starts

did 32 reps at 225 as a DB
Which one less than BJ Raji and more than Orakpo and all of the top OL prospects. Means next to nothing but shows he’s strong. Strong safety is being phased out in NFL but I miss having a hitter. Couldn’t get Taylor Mays so I guess this is the closest thing. 3 yr starter at SC which is saying something.
At least Al Davis isn't running my team's drafts.

Wow
That’s a strong safety alright. Like I said, Ellison reminds me of Rodney Harrison. He could be a defensive weapon, but it’s up to Rivera to fit him in.
